3 inch inlet down pipe

I have a 2g gsx and have a good deal on a 3 inch down pipe (all the way) that eliminates the cat. Will I need a 3 inch o2 size to use it? Or could I use the stock o2 housing for now?

... You should be able to use the stock o2 housing. You will most likely boost creep. Having a custom o2 housing or o2 eliminator makes life easier. Just make sure you have a decent operating boost gage if you are going to run 3 inch on a stock setup.

Does the stock O2 housing flange match the flange on the downpipe?

How would running a straight 3'' exhaust cause boost creep? I'm wondering this because my exhaust is just that. (This is an honest question)

Craig answered that question in your boost creep thread.

Re: 3 inch inlet down pipe

I would say that you wont be able to use it. I actually ran into the same problem when I bought Nash's exhaust. The distance between the studs on a stock o2 housing is about 3" so you probably wont be able to get the nuts on. The flange matches up and everything you just cant put the nuts on. You would be better off getting a 3" tubular.
