Time for a new car?
Now that summer is getting here and gas prices are outrageous, I think it's time for me to get rid of the truck and buy a car. I'm looking to get some ideas from everyone on what I should get. I'm open to just about anything, except a DSM, unless it's a very good deal. Something 97 or newer, price range of about 22-23k is as high as I'm willing to go. Give me some ideas people!

Are you looking for good gas mileage, or just a fun car? or both?

Re: Time for a new car?
If you want my honest suggestion, buy a car like Jana's as a daily for the summer. VERY reliable, great gas milage, comfy, ect ect. And it won't hurt the pocket book either. This will allow you to keep saving for a house or a nicer spring/summer/fall fun car while having a reliable daily and winter car. We will never get rid of Jana's Prizim till it's dead in the water. Now that it's also paid off, it's SOOO nice. Cheap insurance as well.
A '00 - '02 Prizim with anywhere from 28k to 68k miles go for 5k to 8k on car soup.

I'm looking for something fun. Gasmileage isn't a big issue since whatever I get should get better gasmileage then my truck.

I'll never buy a Neon so SRT-4 is out of the question.

Re: Time for a new car?
Get an Audi TT. atpturbo.com gt2871 bolt on kit if you want some more kick-in-the-pants, otherwise you're good to go. Don't buy a miata, we will all for sure laugh at you.
Otherwise, for something a bit bigger, I vote for a B5 S4 or Evo8.

Seen a couple quick newer GTO's this past year....
I'll be looking for a nice clean used Evo this next year myself.

Re: Time for a new car?
Not bad, but out of the cars you listed a TT would be at the bottom for me, it just doesnt work well as a "sports car." They are nice though, the 1.8T is a big slow though, look at the V6, unless your planning on modding the 1.8, then its a better choice.
Go look at this: http://www.carsoup.com/used/detail.a...DealerGroupID=

I actually had a blast driving my buddy's miata. Nash is looking at the mazda speed mx-5. It should be a blast with 178hp! And it is turbo so it will be easy to upgrade.
There are a lot of nice cars out there now. I am not a fan of the audi/vw's though. The R32 is pretty cool, but not as fast as an Evo.
