Hennepin County Police
Hey guys, I am trying to find the police station whatever place where you'd go to talk with someone about taking a traffic violation off the record. This is my first traffic violation in years, and two police officers threw me off on where I can go talk to someone to get it taken off my record *if I drive clean for a year*.
One officer said to go to downtown minneapolis, the other said it could be done at Brooklyn Park.
I got pulled over by downtown minneapolis for being blind at night and also lost. If this was in St. Paul, i'd know where to go, but I hate minneapolis.
Can anyone direct me to the correct place?

Court or the District Attorneys office.

Re: Hennepin County Police
yeah, its called a continuance or a stay of judification.
I almost got one for one of my tickets, and the way they explained it to me is that if I drove clean for a year, nothing would happen, but if I got a ticket, I would get pounded in the ass.

Re: Hennepin County Police
If you received a ticket, it should have a phone number to call. Its probably one of the Hennipin county district courts. Ridgedale, Southdale and downtown all have one. You call that number on your ticket and they'll tell you which court building to go to.

I got that for one of those nazi red light camera tickets. All I have to do is stay under the radar for a year. i'm about 5 months away from it being a year! (where's some wood to knock on for pete's sake?)

Re: Hennepin County Police
no, the city will appeal to the courts, and if they loose, then i can probably have that ticket taken off my record, maybe even refunded, but i doubt that.

Re: Hennepin County Police
yea...so i got it done.
Downtown Minneapolis - Ruthless place around 3-4pm. People are crazy drivers !
People are crabby as hell. I asked the front desk officer, and yep, he looked pissed off. I
I was directed to the violations bureau *nothing but a front desk*, and she was really crabby. Then i went to wait in line for a long ass time. Some punk 4 foot bum was yelling at this african lady that didn't speak english too good. "THIS IS AMERICA. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. GET BACK IN LINE" Damn, i shoulda let her in front of me just to piss him off. The front desk lady worker in the "hearing" office was so and so. One 20 year old girl or whatnot was yelling at her phone all extra loud about how she lost her ticket and had to waste another hour sitting there waiting. She kept complaining to her boyfriend I assume? Also she wanted to act cool and what not for example. "Man, your guy friend is such a dick. Rude as hell on the phone to me. Tell him to watch himself before he gets his ass stabbed etc....." (No duh, get off your phone and pay attention.) One lady got her turn skipped and went ballistic at the locked door. When the next person came out to get the next one in line, she went crazy again! I don't think her time with the hearing officer went too well. She was still yelling when I walked passed the room she was in. I have never seen so many angry people in one room before.
Nonetheless, my driving must be state of the art clean for 1 year after paying my $150 violation........o'well, least my insurance isn't going up.

Re: Hennepin County Police
LOL. Thats a funny story. I've walked through the government center where you are talking about. There are some pretty scary and disturbed people there. Seems like you took things in stride.

Watch out especially around the MG/Champlin area, I got tagged last night for barely rolling a stopsign.

Re: Hennepin County Police
Yeah Hennepin County jail sucks too. I got thrown in there a few times for fighting. One time I got tossed in there, it wasn't five minutes and I beat up some drunk black dude in the holding area that was mouthing off to me. They ended up just letting me go because I was the only white person in the whole holding area and they figured I would just keep getting in fights the whole time I was there. I had to come back in the morning for court. And what a god damn zoo that place was, people screaming and yelling for no reason.

Re: Hennepin County Police
Wow. Crazy story Blizzard. For fighting you got thrown in jail? Did you have to pay any fines or anything? Well, i'm not the kinda guy who gets afraid of things. I was just amazed at all the pissed off people in one building. Compared to mostly EVERYONE there, I walked into that building smiling like some messed up prick like it was the best day of my life lol. Seriously. I smiled at every crazy bastard and worker that looked at me. I think the mexican dude sitting in front of me was a bit scared. I even bought a candy bar from the salvation army kids in the lobby. Even took a picture with them lol.
They say all the mean looking guys will only hurt you. All the good lookin smiling bastards like me are the crazy ones lol.
