Fiberglass body work

Anyone have any recommendations for someone who does fiberglass repair/bodywork?

I'll post a picture of the damage later, but it's damage to my lower rear valance.

I can ask the guy coming over to my place tonight giving me a quote if he does anything like that if you want. Assume you're referring to the minor damage on the front bumper you showed me the other day?

Fiberglass is fun, just do it, it's pretty self explanatory.

Should be pretty simple, just need to reconnect and make sure it's straight etc.. Only thing is I'd rather it be done while the bumper/valence are still on the car if possible.

No, the rear where the dear came out the other end.

I'll never get around to it, I drove the car for a year with duct tape holding it together and good story to tell.


And yes, it's been sitting since then, our baby adventure started a month later.

Don't mind the dirtiness around the break, it's from the tape..

That looks like a super easy repair. I do body work in a semi truck shop so I have tons of experience with fiberglass. Getting it straight would be no big deal. It would be way easier to repair it off the car but it's possible to do it on the car. Looking to do paint work on it as well I assume?

Yes, need it painted after it's fixed. Could use suggestions for that as well.

I'd prefer leaving the bumper on the car, but could take it off if needed.

The whole repair process in general would be much easier with the bumper off the car. It's tough to get the fiberglass matting saturated with resin upside down, so the repair quality would be better as well. Not to mention, if the bumper was on the car during painting, the whole car would have to be masked off and bagged. It's also easier to keep the dirt out of the paint when you aren't spraying the paint up from the floor.

Is that a removable lip or is it all one piece?

It was originally a removable item. But when it was installed, that changed. I'll dig a little deeper and see how much of a pita it is in its current state.

If it's unable to be separated from the bumper it's ok. Basically as long as the bumper can come off from the car it will be all the same as far as repair ease.
