Well I was readin' Pop Mechanics and saw the new 4G 2006 Eclipse
It's got a mercury cougar front end with projectors, Saturn Ion meets Nissan Maxima sides with a wierd Mustang like side vent, and a Chrysler Crossfire meets Hyundai Tibouron rear.
(I'll let you make your own judgements, I think it looks like the run-of-the-mill modern day sports car...)
Here's how the models will/should pan out
RS/GS- 2.4L DOHC I4 all alum. MIVEC 190hp 6sp or 5sp auto
The engine will be shared in the 3G Stratus RT/Sebring LXi/Hyundai Tibouron. The engine is being engineered mostly in part my Mitsu... with rumors of a Mercedez (Daimler Chrysler) Tranny with RWD in the V6
GT - 3.8L SOHC V6 250 hp 6 sp or 5 sp auto
GTS - 3.8L SOHC V6 MIVEC 260 hp 6sp or 5 sp auto
The 3.8L V6 is from the Diamante/04' Galant/Montero Sport
The suspension, height and width of the car should be similar to the 3000GT/Stealth...
Very interesting to say the least...

Doesn't look to bad but I don't care for the middle of the front bumper.

You guys are kidding, right? Those are pictures of the inspirational 3G show car that was out years ago. If Car and Driver's site has a cloaked version, do you really think there's going to be a car show pic of one on another site?

That car is the SSR... The false vents in the current 3G came from that car to originaly accomodate twin side mount intercoolers... That car was made in 1997 to have the 4G63 (240hp) or the 3.8 (240hp) at the time V6 optional... The new one is in the December Issue of Popular mechanics. That pic is from the July 1997 issue of Motor Trend...

I'm on the 4th Tranny (my fault)... Cheap interior shared with Chrysler (Sebring and Stratus), bad brakes (proly my fault, but others have had the same problem on 03' models) and making power is impossible
