Pretty much got everything bought now for the GSX, besides some maintenance items. realizing how close I am, I'm getting real excited. This is huge for me, I'm gonna be speechless when it's all installed and ready to go, That first start up and hearing it idle.. Probably gonna bring tears to my eyes and that first cruise will be the happiest moment of my life...

Or, instead of starting a new thread you could actually update your project thread with STATUS OF THE PROJECT. All you ever seem to post is a parts list? Over and over? Are you just slowly but surely buying parts? Is the car under the knife and being built now? What are you actually doing?

I understand the obsession that can go with these projects, but you sir are doing it wrong.

I get the whole its a dsm, there's cheaper parts out there and it'll produce the same but its his car, who gives a shit what he does to it, it may not be for you just like an evo x may not be for him. this is why you have the same couple guys making threads on this site and not new blood in here.

its a clean looking car man, good luck getting it put back together.

I'm going to guess that sheides was more referring to how he's making his build thread. This is the second thread he's created that is just a list of parts he has or is going to buy. He hasn't given us any info or pics of what is actually going on with the car right now. Give us an update on whats going on with the car! we want to know! Is the engine out? is it being assembled? or already going back in?? et. It's a nice looking car! I'd like to see how it turns out.

This. I owned an evo8 before my X, a 2G DSM before that, and a 1G DSM before that. I'm not even remotely dogging on the price OR the parts combo (they look great in fact!), I just want project details in project threads, not parts lists

Re: Update on my 98 GSX build

Oh shit haha my bad! Engine blew up last August, 3 holes in the block :-/ Very sad moment, But watching it getting hauled away told myself major upgrades are coming! Not much I can do at the moment since I don't have any parts yet..

Everything is bought just waiting on the engine to get done being built, Then I'm gonna head to map and pick it up and everything else.

Slowly working on it now, Going to take out the a/c system soon. Really want to paint the engine bay but $$$$$ Is an issue at the moment.

You can rattle can the bay and make it look good! Plus it fits into anyone budget.

What turbo you plan on running?

Sadly... I might have to use my 16g for a few months. I have a fp manifold also. My goal tho is get a gt35r/6262DBB/fp red. I just don't have an extra 2grand for a new turbo setup at the moment and NO not gonna look into a holset lol

You could of saved a lot of money not even cutting corners, then you would of been able to buy turbo and injectors. But, yeah your build your money. I'm sure it will still be fun to drive on a 16G.

Re: Update on my 98 GSX build

Was going on a little 'night cruise' Hit like 125mph.. coasting for awhile.. down shifted went to go accel again and I knocked, let off right away.. Thought I'd try it again and then boom!!! going like 60 maybe and only at like 10-15psi Remember hearing metal flying everywhere, seeing fire coming from under my hood and under my car, Shit flying behind me.. Pulled over and flames were shooting out the side of my hood, smoke just pouring out. Popped open the hood and everything was covered in oil and burnt. Smoked finally cleared.. and ohhhh helllooo that hole shouldn't be there... lol
