2.4 nt 1g?

so i am in need of a dd as my current one is developing more and more problems by the day and i bought it for super cheap and i dont want the work to excede the worth.

so i was thinking of picking up a non turbo 1g and dropping in a 4g64 block with a 4g63 head. then drop in a 2g fwd turbo tranny. what do you guys think?

will the compression ratio be outragious or anything like that?

can anyone forsee any major problems?

i know its not the "purest" way to do things but i think it would be a fun little projest. nothing fast just a stock motor... for the most part.

Or just pick up a colt or nt dsm and leave it stock? Even after all the work to put together a 2.4 nt engine you're still going to have more money into a car than it's worth.

If you leave things alone there's less chance for shit to go wrong.

Pretty sure the stock 2.4 pistons wont work with the dohc head.

Re: 2.4 nt 1g?

I'd get a g4cs 6 bolt 2.4 (out of the sonata with the 8 valve head) The pistons out of this engine are flat top, as opposed to dished. Then just bolt the 4g63 head on, which will give you a static compression of just under 13:1. Tune with some e85 and enjoy the benefits.
