Re: Mitsubishi Evo Name to Return as Hybrid Variant
Mitsubishi is dead as an enthusiasts' brand. They really have been for a few years, just grasping on to a few Evo X sales and is dies a slow painful death. Evo VIII got 3 model years, which included updates in 2005. Evo IX got 1 model year, with a special edition that replaced the 2nd model year. Evo X got 7 model years with 1 being skipped due to poor sales.
I really, really, liked my Evo X, it was a great car and a great platform. Mitsubishi put a lot of engineering R&D into this car with a completely brand new chassis, interior, and powertrain. With a few minor updates and a refresh it could have very easily morphed into an Evo XI model and I'd honestly probably own one. They let the X get too long in the tooth though and people started jumping ship.
