Re: Tuning with Holley Commander 950

Whatever works best for your application. If other people are using the Holley on whichever car you want to run it on, then definately go for it. I mostly have experience with AEMs, FAST/Speedpro, Haltech, SDS and Motec. FAST/Speedpros are nice for a somewhat simple to use standalone, but they are spendy. Motecs are way too expensive. The AEMs are mostly plug and play for specific apps, but people often buy the Honda ones, because they are the cheapest and have the most input/outputs, for use on unsupported cars. The SDS is very basic, it doesn't use a laptop for tuning, just a hand controller. The Haltechs can be had for cheap used, but I personally don't like the interface. I have limited experience with the TEC3s, but it seems like a decent system now and the software is pretty nice. The TEC3 seems to work on a lot of cars that some of the other standalones won't work on easily.
