He paid $100 for a $0.10 resistor that he wired into the air temp sensor on his intake manifold?

The funny thing to is 90% of the time when VTEC "kicks harder" is because the tune is screwed up and its losing all kinds of power to the point that VTEC turns on. You should hear VTEC but not feel it, unless you have some huge aftermarket cams that don't allow the crossover to be smooth.
