Convert the car to OBD1 and run Hondata or Crome. That would be the closest to DSMLink(factory ECU control), but it is still closer to cell by cell tuning a speed density standalone versus the limited tuning control of DSMLink. He could try TurboEdit for OBD0 also. AEM does make a box for the OBD0 Hondas now, but tuning an AEM is a bit more complicated. The Power FC will be a major pain in the ass, unless he gets some laptop software. The normal units are tuned by a hand controller, which is like trying to tune an AEM standalone using a calculator instead of a laptop. He needs to dump the FMU and just get bigger injectors, when he goes to a real tuning system.
Anthony: You have it backwards. The Honda AEM boxes are the cheapest. People often use them instead of the universal boxes on other kinds of cars.
