BOVs not functioniong correctly??

hey guys. I have 2 different bov's to try this on. Boost leak tested and no leaks. vacuum lines from my electronic bc and j-pipe is are not leaking at all. first off, we tried a knock off greddy rs bov i got from one of my cousin's evo. I've heard it and seen it work great.
the deal with the knock-off RS bov is that it only gives off the RS bov noise at 15+ psi. Any boost under 12ish boost, it'll flutter. Well, it doesnt flutter, it's more like a couple fast chirps. when we removed my turbo, there's was very very little shaft play, so im assuming there is no compressor surge. we adjusted the spring to it's softest and it's still chirping away, no making any whoosh noise like an RS bov should be.
Onto the real greddy type-s bov, when I put it in, we adjusted soft enough so that the bov would release enough air to be vented(vacuum) when it's recirculated back to the intake. I gave it a couple revs and could see that the bov is working but its not making the noise of the Type-s it should be. It makes a 'type-s' noise very very quietly when it was parked and while driving, I cant even hear it. Basically, both BOV's are working fine, I'm just wondering if my lines from the wastegate, j-pipe and top bov are correct. I'll get pics up asap.

pics would help, because im pretty (100%) sure that the line from your j-pipe shouldnt be hooked up to your bov.

It should be J-pipe, to MBC, to WG.

and on a seperate line go from intake manifold to BOV, and maybe a boost gauge T'd in if you have one.

Hope that helps!

EDIT: oh yeah, dont buy knock offs!!

BLUE: Greddy Profec-B Boost Controller
YELLOW: line goes to wastegate
RED: goes to j-pipe
ORANGE: goes directly to the intake manifold

both the RED and YELLOW lines are not connected to the bov.

EDIT: I got the knock off for free! lol...

Well it looks like you have your vacuum lines run correctly. My tial does what you were describing, but that's cuz I have an 11 psi spring in it, so it doesn't open fully until there's 11 psi in the charge pipe.

hmm..is there any way i can find out what kind of spring i have? I hear/read that the original Type-s springs dont hold well over 20+psi.

Take the BOV apart and see what spring is in there, or use a vac tester and see when the BOV opens/fully opens at.
