Help me expand my metal music collection

What I'm specifically looking for are power metal bands, ones like Dragonforce, melodic metal. I listen to Dream Theater a lot as well.

Some bands I enjoy listening to:
Kamelot
Iced Earth
Sonata Arctica
Nightwish

I know there are a TON of bands out there, but are there any others that you like and would suggest listening to? What I don't want are Cookie Monster vocals and double-bass kicks that last the entire song.

If you have other metal bands that aren't quite this genre but are good listening feel free to share. Yes, I know Tool owns all, but I'm not narrow minded. :)

I just rediscovered the black album again, not bad. Seems like it takes ten years to rediscover something cool if you burn out on it.

The Scorpions have a new CD out that is killer, but you probably have to be above 30 to appreciate that genre.

On Pandora, I've got my channel set for Dream Theater of course, this picks up a lot of good artists. My favorite one has been Beautiful Sin, easily the best chick vocals out there besides Amy Lee. Kamelot is good, but a lot of weird crap on there. A few more of my favs.

Dark Moor
Pendragon
Lacrimas Profundere
Slamer
Anthropia

I do not like the Black album as much as every metallica album leading up to it.

Im glad a few people listen to Dream Theater here. They are AMAZING musicians and Scenes From a Memory is one of my top 10 favorite albums of all time.

About the closest I get to anything metal is Refused. And I would recommend at least checking out "The Shape of Punk to Come". Namely the songs "New Noise" and "Summer Holiday vs. Punk Routine".

A friend in high school turned me onto Dream Theater. I was blown away to say the least. If I could play instruments and sing half as good as those guys I'd be happy.

I know you don't like Cookie Monster metal, but here's a pretty hard song that gets me going for the day.

BLACKTIDE! If they don't screw off too much with booze, drugs & egos they are on their way to be the next generation of the big 4 from the early 80's

Here is a A Capella Metal band called Van Canto. Vocal and drum only version of Battery. Can't get it out of my head now that I heard it.

"Five singers, one drummer. No guitars, no bass, no keyboards version of Metallica's Battery."

That is pretty cool how they use their voices.
