My Stealth TT, dealth, then revived
So, as some of you may know, a while ago I picked up a 92 Stealth TT for cheap. (thanks Joe M)
http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/P1010001.JPG I put the tranny back in with a new clutch and output shaft, and had a running driving TT. It has higher miles (~142K now) but the body's not bad, it was mostly re-done after hitting a deer (before I got it) I put a bit over 6,000 miles on it, and took it to two road course events. Well, one and 1/8th road course events. The first was Mid America Motorplex. It had overheating issues and I had to take it easy. Next up was Road America. For those of you that don't know, Road America (RA) is a 4.x(2?) mile road course that's over in eastern Wisconsin. I got about 5 laps in and then... This \/ \/ \/ happened. http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/P1010141.JPG http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/P1010142.JPG http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/P1010140.JPG http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/P1010139.JPG Needless to say the car was towed home. The biggest disappointment was I missed out on A LOT of track time. :drive1: I had installed a Koyo radiator and wired my fans full on for RA. I put the boost at waistgate pressure, just to be sure it didn't have any issues. I took 3 laps to make it to operating temp. 200 HP. I did pass a C5 with an owner that was driving conservatively, and hit at least 135 MPH 2-3 times per lap. I'm pretty sure the crank got broken as an after the fact thing. At the track, there was a hole in the block, as it made a nice puddle of oil where I parked to get towed off track. The motor still ran when I got it home, not making much noise, but with a bad vibration (no piston/rod). I started it to drive it to it's parking spot (no one to help push) and then it made a clunk and never turned over again. So, instead of partying it up on new years I spent my time putting this in. http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/.../P10100101.JPG And my car's back to a running state. Yay! |

Congrats man.

Re: My Stealth TT, dealth, then revived
First off holy shit on those carnage pictures.
Secondly that is awesome that you got your car back together and running. What all did you put in yours? It looks really nice. |
Re: My Stealth TT, dealth, then revived
sorry to hear about that but at least that beast is back on the road!!! :]
|
Re: My Stealth TT, dealth, then revived
That is the most insane carnage I've ever seen.

Re: My Stealth TT, dealth, then revived
Awesome, dude! Just the other day I was wondering what plans you had for your 3/S, glad to hear it's back up and running.

Re: My Stealth TT, dealth, then revived
Nice man, congrats on getting it up and going. I assume it's probably not for sale anymore? This is the one you had for sale awhile back right?
|
Re: My Stealth TT, dealth, then revived
Yeah, this is the one. Everything's for sale, for the right price. With everything it's got on it now I'd want a lot more. 6000ish, probably a little less. That's off the top of my head, but that's the "You can have it if you make if worth it to me" price.
As far as the turbo's, it really depends on the rest of the setup. I'm not trying to get all I can out of them, I'm looking to get 300-350. That should be at the limit of the mild clutch. They should be able to do ~400. It would be better if I had the upgraded exhaust wheel. Mine have stock WRX exhaust wheels. Stock for a 3S is TD04. The WRX's are TD04L, they arn't much bigger. TD04HL is a lot bigger (about 1/4"). TD04HL 19T's have done 550 AWHP on race and 513 on pump with heads and cams. But that's on a DD where the used the X key, so not quite that much for those of us around here. About 430-450 on pump with heads and cams, 475+/- on race with out H/C. Both those # are from the same guy. As far as not telling you, I was going to eventualy. |
Re: My Stealth TT, dealth, then revived
Glad to hear you have it back on the road!!

Re: My Stealth TT, dealth, then revived
Glad its back up and running! Keep us updated on power and such!
|
Re: My Stealth TT, dealth, then revived
Yaya, post up some power graphs whenever you get some dyno time with that thing.
I assume the X key on a DD adjusts the correction factor? |
Re: My Stealth TT, dealth, then revived
In the bar screen you hit the X key on the keyboard and there is a correction factor you can type in. Normaly this is 1.000 but you can take power away or add as much as 3.000. This will change the power and torque reading in the bar screen and the graph screen. Or if you load up a graph from any car you can add or take power away. If the dyno run was done with the correction in place it would show up in the Snap shot file. If you type in 1.130 if would add 13% HP and Trq in the graph screen and the bar screen. The way Dyno Dynamics intended people to display more power then the car was making was with Shoot out mode, this would give a more "real world" number.
