2g caps on 1g head

I'm questioning if anyone has ever used 2g caps to hold down their camshafts on a 1g head. Funny thing is, I have 2 2g heads (only 1 full set of caps) and 2 1g heads (missing 1 cap if I use one as a donor). I have reason to believe that it will work, since both heads are basically the same except for the intake runners, etc. Please help a brother out.

You aren't supposed to switch the caps on them. You are supposed to just use the caps from one head on that head only.

Then how come every head I come to happens to not have either any caps or missing a few here and there?

Because when people take stuff apart, they are never organized?

You have to line hone/bore the cam journals if you are going to play the "switch the caps around" game, I haven't thought about even attempting to switch cam caps on different heads.

Switching caps around, same head or different heads, is just a bad situation waiting to happen. If you're lucky the cam will turn, but the clearances may be off. If you aren't so lucky the cam journals will be so far out of spec that the cam will be seized upon torquing the caps.

I have another head with a couple valves out of the head but all of the caps are there and so are the cams. However the cams are sorta scarred up a little. Let me know if you need it. Someone offered 50 for it but never heard back.
