Re: turbo setup
Oil lines, water lines, crush-washers, J-pipe, gaskets for everything, 4 new manifold/turbo bolts.
|
Re: turbo setup
where can i get them and the prices roughly? and i don't have access to get down in the cities unless i have no choice due to the fact i live in saint cloud, and i dont want to drive all that way if i can get something up here.

Re: turbo setup
Call Brookdale Mitsu, they give a DSMStyle discount and ship stuff quickly and for a reasonable price. If you need me to, I can make a complete list of everything you'll need.

Re: turbo setup
yes please do! :D

Re: turbo setup
-turbo outlet/J-pipe gasket
-manifold to turbo gasket -turbo to o2 housing gasket -manifold/turbo bolts (4) -crush-washers for water in/out lines -crush-washers for oil feed (4) -gaskets for oil drain (2) Hopefully you can get the water/oil lines used with the turbo. You'll have to order the J-pipe from a shop or have one custom made. Check out this RRE page: http://roadraceengineering.com/2g16ginstallkit.htm |
Re: turbo setup
Do they still give discounts over there?
Why not just get a T28 |
Re: turbo setup
Do you have hard pipes for your t25? If so chop it in the middle where it goes up and put a piece of stock IC piping between and that works istead of the aftermarket J Pipe. I can take a pic fo what mine looks like if you want.(its kinda ghetto but shit it was FREE and FAST)

Re: turbo setup
i only have a upper IC pipe w/ 1g bov, intake, and MBC running at 14psi on t25.. i am rewiring my fuel pump on friday though and picking up the turbo on sunday. i am getting a damn good deal on the 14b thats why i am getting that instead of a t28... so i will hopefully get the rest for a good deal.

Re: turbo setup
am i going to need to rewire my fuel pump w/ a 14b running at 15psi?... or would it be a good idea? because i have everything i need to do it. just nothing to tune it with yet.

Re: turbo setup
Do yourself a favor and buy a new banjo bolt for the head too. Everytime I've taken one off it breaks when I put it back in (stupid 24" biceps!).

Re: turbo setup
Doh! Silly me with a 6-bolt in my 2g...forgetting these mundane details of the mythical creature: the STOCK dsm--never seen one!
|
Re: turbo setup
I hear ya man, I had to double think that. I forgot about the 7bolt a little. But you did remind me that I needed a new banjo bolt for there so you helped me out.
And just an FYI talonTSI, If you wanna pick up the banjo from mitsu they have to order them in. |
Re: turbo setup
I have some 1g oil lines for much cheaper than the dealer if you aren't getting them with the turbo. I am pretty sure you could get by with using the stock turbo bolts also. I have done it before without an issue and I think thet are like $7 each if I can remember correectly. I have some used extras of those also.

Re: turbo setup
I have an extra "J" pipe with lower intercooler pipe for a 2G swap that I can sell you
|
Re: turbo setup
My honest opinion would be to go with the T-28 its a direct replacement to the T-25. you can get them pretty cheap. Prolly get it installed in about 3 hours if you have a coffee break for 15 minutes and smoke cigarettes every 30 minutes. LOL
The T28 pulled pretty good in my 99 GSX auto. |
Re: turbo setup
He asked what you need to make it work. If he's getting the parts cheap - why not? Just make sure you have EVERYTHING before you start. Otherwise you could be waiting days to get it back up and running.

Re: turbo setup
Well assuming from the first post he hasnt ordered it yet. So to save him the headache i was suggesting a solution that would more suit his College situation.

Re: turbo setup
A 14b on a 2G a headache? Are you kidding me. Get the right parts and its cake.
