What do you think about what is said.
Now tell me what you think its worth. http://www.mopar.com/srt_stage_2.htm |
A grand?
|
" More aggressive exhaust note during deceleration. More pops, snaps, and burbles during closed throttle de-celerations and between shifts. "
Ha, they are trying to sell that as a feature. |
Stage 2 PCM
682 cc/min Fuel Injectors Wastegate Actuator 3.0 bar MAP Sensor 3.0 bar TIP Sensor Is that all you get? "* Turbo Toys are an optional feature for this kit" so that stuff isn't even included? |
you don't get a bigger turbo till stage 3
|
Yes thats whats included, and the "Turbo Toys" is an option.
I think I want just the Base kit for the PCM, injectors and sensors, but they make the boost control and octane switch sound sooo cool. LMAO Now I know what the MSRP on this is, and it seems quite hi to me. If you get the turb toys, the PCM is programmed for it, so it really cant be added later. I think the octane switch is bad as hell, not that I would use it often.... You know mopar did that awhile back with stock PCMs in the GLHS i hear... But it wasnt a switch, turn the key on for 15 secs before starting the car, and it would go to a more agressive programming. |
Why do they give you a new actuator... wouldn't a boost controller work just fine?
|
its still a neon.
|
I guess... i'd still take one

Yes, i have a modified AGP WGA already... and yes its still a neon.
Anyone else care to say what they HONOSTLY think this should cost... Neon or not, you have to have an idea of what 4 new injecotrs, new performance PCM and 2 sensors are worth... |
Cool.
|
geez i thought this was a dsm site.... why are there continually posts about neons?..... and why are they always started by ACRucrazy?
|
I like hearing about the SRT-4s

And that you guys drive turbo vehicles also, that I respect, that I have interest in. But apparently the world revolves around DSMs? LOL I like hearing about new things, and learning about new things... dont you? :toast: |

But apparently the world revolves around DSMs? LOL I like hearing about new things, and learning about new things... dont you? :toast: [/b][/quote] Sure, its a DSM forum, but of course there are always going to be different people with different cars. Its like rolling up to a parkinglot full of hondas... they'll prob still respect you even if you dont have a honda ;-) Anyway, SRT-4's are pretty damn badass... I mean shit, we talk about non-dsm cars aka 3G / future 4G, women, jokes, problems; why cant we talk about SRT-4s as well? Sorry about getting off topic though... perhaps you could try tuner's buying guide and work from base prices there. |
Well, i just found a low price for the base kit to be about 800$ and a low price for the upgraded kit to be about 1395$.
I guess the MSPR is 999$ and 1599$ respectively. Supposedly dealer cost on the upgrade stage 2 with turbo toys is $1297 so I dont see it going for less than that. I think the base kit will suffice, and the money saved from the turbo toys pick up a huge FMIC from AGP. :3gears: Now figure, stage 1 that comes with a PCM and injectors goes for about 350$ (already have it so i could sell it) and a WGA cost about $100-150$ so that leaves the MAP and TIP sensors to be a cost of about $300 together... Does that seem a bit high? |
Hey, it easier to keep tabs on the competition when they put it in your face.
|
this is true.....
My car is slow, very slow... wanna race? hehehe By the way, whats opening weekend at RF?? Anyone know. EDIT, just looked April 3rd and 4th it is. |
That price doesn't seem too bad. For a dsm, injecotrs $350, Safc $300 (new), if we needed one WGA $100, 2g MAS setup $100. That brings a dsm to about $850. But you still get your warranty as it is a factory upgrage = PRICELESS
|
I think it's pretty cool that Dodge is offering factory upgrades...they even tell you don't lift to shift! They must feel they built the car pretty well if they are condoning all of this added abuse. How do these cars handle in the twisties?

Doesn't say anything about voiding the car's warranty, but the upgraded parts come with ZERO warranty...defective parts aren't even covered!!!
|
This is true, Mopar PERFROMANCE Parts dont have a warranty, but like anything they can not void the warranty of the car itself, unless then its determined that ANY of those aftermarket parts, mopar or not caused the faliure.. So if your tranny goes out, your CAI cant void your warr, but if you suck up water and Hydrolock it, then BYE BYE (by the way my buddies 98 avenger did this last fall, took his iceman out and his INSURANCE paid for a new engine, lmao)
Anyways.. did you guys see STAGE 3? Me and Shane were talking about this, it comes with a 15GK2 turbo (same one as in a EVO VI) and a bigger exhaust mani... http://www.mopar.com/srt_stage_3.htm I think its cool as hell to have be able to get stuff like this from a dealer. :bounce: |

http://www.mopar.com/suspension_damper.htm Im thinking of selling my Image Performance coilovers and getting the Level 3 Mopars with camber plates, but who knows. The SCC that came out this week did the Mopars to theyre project SRT. pretty neat stuff. Heres a quick vid i just found from the mopar nats this past weekend.. SRT passing a viper on a road course. http://www.lake-effect-racing.com/Racing/2.../vids/Nat02.wmv |
My boss rode in both the SRT4 and the Viper down at Daytona. He said on the tighter course down there, the SRT4 was quicker than the Viper.
|
At the Chicago auto show they Dodge had all the Stage kits on display some of the stuff looked cheap as in poorly made. Don much have a point besides it all looked like it would break in a month.

All those were fake. Funny thing is that a Stage 3 fuel rail and injectors were stolen from the Chicago show. Then they showed up on ebay, and the thief didnt even know that they display ones were stock injectors. Point of those are to show what they are and distibute info. By the way, how was it? |
it was awesome, and i saw imediatly that 3 of 4 injectors was gone off of the wall display he must have gone back and got the last one.
It was awesome dodge had there srt-4 that they had built it was orange with carbon fiber hood the slicks on the thing where just chewed up to beat hell look good as hell. |
Factory upgrades? rock-on
i'd take a srt-4 w/factory upgrades as a daily anyday. |

|
Me too, why upgrade a new car if it will void the warranty? Especially if you spent that much to get the warranty in the first place.
|
Yea that is a sweet deal. SRT-4s arent so bad I guess. Except for the FWD part. But for a daily drive that would be sweet.

|
Well the price wars have been good to us!
Hehe, MSRP on the Stage2 WITH turbo toys is $1599 Discounted price started at about $1480, then droped to 1540, 1420, 1380, 13750, 1360, and now down to 1325... kinda funny to watch, everyone wants everyones dollar. Cost is 1279, so im just waiting for the 1299 price! Muahaha. |
