Re: Is broke, and I need a new one, right?
Questions about a small 16g...
All I need for install on a 2g with a stock mani are the j-pipe, gaskets, and new oil line, right? Also, for porting, with what, and how difficult is it? Will the turbo need to be ported to work? |

Dude, JUMP on that deal!
No, it doesn't need to be ported to work, but it'd probably help! :D |

The question with the lining up perfectly would raise questions about gaskets, would it not? |
Re: Is broke, and I need a new one, right?
As in don't spaz (LOL) about it, it'll line up just fine. If you port it you will get better airflow. If you don't, it's not a big deal (esp since you're running stock boost).

I'd be happy with it, personally. |
Re: Is broke, and I need a new one, right?
It fits it fits it fits, do you want me to say it one more time?
I promise, it fits. The 16g uses a 7cm hotside, it bolts right up to your stock 2G manifold (get new gaskets btw!) and your stock o2 housing bolts right up to the turbine housing, and your exhaust follows suit. The stock intake pipe fits right on the inlet. The only snag, as previously discussed, is the oil line and the compressor outlet. It points up instead of down and to the side, and this is what a J pipe is for. A simple google search reveals pics of this. Look at the pics here: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/arti...side-fmic.html http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3.../Pixers017.jpg Except that blue coupler you're gonna wanna face it towards your SMIC. Seriously, it'll work. If you run into any snags installing it, you have everyone on this board (more specifically everyone you sat at the table with last night!) at your disposal to work through any issues. You want this (or something similar): http://www.maperformance.com/forced-...it-2g-dsm.html Or go this route and order the line separate: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-94...mZ380061574140 ;) |
Re: Is broke, and I need a new one, right?
I have a 14B-20G stainless oil feed line I'd throw in with it for an extra $10. (filter housing to turbo)
All you would need is a Jpipe |
Re: Is broke, and I need a new one, right?
^^^ hell of a deal for all that, those lines are like $50 new. Buy this immediately, also I'm sure someone local has a jpipe, you can have this together by the end of the weekend.
I'll even offer up some help if you need it. |

1QUICK4, you have a couple PMs

Re: Is broke, and I need a new one, right?
If anyone's got a j pipe they aren't using, let me know.
Also, gaskets. Where's the best place to buy new gaskets? Your generic auto parts store? |
Re: Is broke, and I need a new one, right?
Get the 7cm gasket at mitsu or any local shop that has them in stock.
I really like the felpro gasket from exhaust mani to head, they are thicker and compress unlike the thin metal ones. Don't know if they have one from the turbo to o2 housing, but I'd get another felpro if they make it. Those can be purchased at oreilly, probably around $20-$25 for both. They should also have the downpipe gasket. Or ForcedPerformance sells the turbo gasket set for $30, has everything but the gasket to head. Even includes the oil gaskets and new copper crush washers for the water lines. |

On a side note, I'll be camping this weekend, and therefore will be without a computer. I'll be back Sunday morning and plan to make an appearance to the MAP BBQ. Anyone with offers can reach me at 7632108509. I'd like to at least have everything I need and have the old turbo off by Sunday night, if I can help it. |
Re: Is broke, and I need a new one, right?
Did you get that turbo bolted up yet?
