Stage I head porting with valves out $80

Sorry, but is stage I a 3-angle, or what? May be interested...

JET 04-26-2004 03:03 PM

When someone says a 3 angle, that is the valve job. You can also get a 5 angle.

A level 1 port job cleans up all of the casting flaws, parting lines and smooths out the flow. I am not currently offering anything higher than a level 1 because I have not done the testing yet. I am doing a stage 3 head for myself that I will get before and after dyno results on. I would recommend the level 1 port job for someone between 350 whp - 450 whp.

Gotcha. Just saw valves mentioned and started thinking you were doing valve jobs... my bad.

SuperSleeper 05-03-2004 01:38 AM

Do you have a pic of any ported heads? I'm seriously considering it, and need to get it done soon. Doesn't require a whole lot of porting, but would definitely make a difference. Head is all disassembled and ready to go. Drop me a PM or something.

Here is a 14b that I did for a member. The wastegate outlet is also ported, but I couldn't get a decent pic of that. It is so damn shiny that I couldn't get the camera to focus on it decent! I took about 20 pictures and these are the best.

Not too shabby for $50, eh?

Yes, that is Austin's 14b.

Here are some pic's of my head that I ported. It is pretty extreme on the exhaust side and there are about 15 hours of porting in the head.

It doesn't take much on the intake side, it is already pretty big.

Halon 07-26-2004 06:35 AM

hey so is that the stage 1 head porting you offer? if not, how much for that right there? also wondering if you had any pictures of any 2g exhaust mani's you've done. Lastly, what about notching a 4g63 block to accept a 2.4 crank? Thanx and nice work on Austins turbo man.

Halon 08-01-2004 10:20 AM

also wondering if you have any pics of exh mani's or O2 housings you've done. Those are what I'm gunna need done here soon, thanx.

JET 08-01-2004 10:54 PM

I have an O2 housing I am going to be doing in the next couple of days, I will take a pic when I am done.

That head is a stage 3 or 4 head, there is 16 hours of port work into it. The pictures don't do it justice at all. The exhaust ports are about 50% bigger than stock. That would be $325. It is pretty extreme though, I can do something in the middle for $200 also.

Jakey 08-01-2004 11:08 PM

Are you able to do full head rebuilds, similar to what Engintecs does out in Chicago: http://www.engintecs.com/html/dsm_heads.html ?

JET 08-01-2004 11:28 PM

I don't do any of the machine work myself. You can take it to your machine shop, or I can take it to one. There are several good machine shops around.

Kougar 08-11-2004 02:57 AM

Would it be an easy/cheap job to cut off my turbo flange and weld up a t3 flange? It's a quest manifold, trying to prep it for a 17c turbo (which would need a rebuild....you do them too?)
