I'm thinking about doing winter auto cross (yes i know i have a FWD) but it's something I haven't done yet. Was wondering who here does it and if they can give me any pointers.

Thanks

I heard that here in MN they have a beginner class that you start out in, no matter what your mods are, that you can stay in until you win, then you must move up. Also I believe there is a intro beginners clinic in the spring, I am planning on attending myself.

I tried autocrossing before and did well. I have since moved onto rallycrossing. It's the same thing, only on an unpaved surface (i.e. gravel parking lot, farmers field, frozen lake, snow covered field, etc.). Kinda fun to hang the back end out a bit.

Hakka winter tires are the way to go!!! I think the new ones are RSi's or something? I know alot of rallycrossers that use them on gravel and it works well. Find someone that is selling their old Hakka 1's or Hakka 2's (Hakkapalitta tires) that still have a little tread left on them. You can usually pick them up for a decent price as most of them are upgrading every couple of seasons. Sometimes you can even find them on rims that will fit your car for pretty cheap.

Just becarful. The lot they have it in isnt the greatest although I hear they redid it. It could be very easy to get stuck in but it is also alot of fun.
