Beer friday is...Beer Friday! We hang out and drink beer on Friday afternoons. Work a little, but only if really necessary. Answer phones, act professional while everyone else is having fun. I get screwed about half the time out of beer friday; I've been on-site for clients the past few fridays.
My office is downtown, but on the East side of the river, near Whitey's. I guess that's another perk right there!
Here's another perk for me right now. My boss is out in Vegas right now for a conference, and we feel obliged to have some extra fun while he's gone, so we're making a 9-course breakfast tomorrow. Pancakes, waffles, fruit topping, eggs, and breakfast burritos. It will be sweet!

Who else works downtown... and where are you located?
I'm at 501 Marquette Ave (5th & Marquette, Old Soo Line Bldg), in December we move to the Northstar Bldg (so 7th & Marquette).
I work in downtown.. sort of. 800 Washington Ave. N., same building the restaurant Babalou is in (forget the name of the building) used to be an old john deer factory apparently. Also, a couple blocks down from Elite and on the border of the warehouse district and downtown.
Perks: I get to make my own hours  .. but even then I try to be a responsible person and get my work done.
Cons: I live in lakeville and the drive downtown and/or back home can be torture sometimes.

I get free coffee all day long. The good stuff, right. When I am bored I could just get up and walk around. I am never in the same place twice and I have high speed access to the internet. I get discounts in various places. I get free pizza at least once a month. The best is I work in a well lit climate control building so there is no tempature change from day to day.

There is on average 5000 people that come in and out of Treasure Island daily. There are 1800 employees. So I would have to say the best part of my job is that there is never and I mean never a shortage of HOT GIRLS to look at.
Besides that, we have free pop, juice, milk, coffee, hot chocolate, and tea for all the emloyess as well as customers.
My job in particular is pretty laid back I guess since I am the boss. I pretty much do what I want when I want.
There are four restaurants in the Casino as well so it isn't hard to find something good to eat. And if you know the cooks thats always a plus too.
I like my job in particular because there is never a dull moment, if you get bored just go and watch people lose all there money and get super super pissed over it. I used to get bothered by people. But now I just think its funny how many people lose there houses, car, and jobs because of gambling. Is it really that addicting?

Well since I only work part time, I get no real benefits yet... while Im going to school full time...
But the benefits I get from working where Im at right now are: My boss is really cool and lets me come in whenever I want, and lets me take time off whenever I want. On slow days all I do is surf the net and get paid for it. I basically fix computer problems and whatnot, so if nothing is happening then its pretty boring. The people are nice, its a small company, but I know in less than 1.5 years Ill be getting a full time job and I really hope its downtown- I love downtown alot!
The worst thing is driving but its not too bad- Bloomington to south minneapolis close to downtown, but not close enough!

My job is only part-time since I'm still in school, but, it involves a lot of driving in a company car and free beer :)
I just interviewed for a position downtown on Nicollet Ave so we'll see what comes of that.

I get to work on my car after 6pm, everyday if I want!
Oh, parts at cost is cool, the people I work with are great, the customers rule, and I don't have to answer to a boss, as I am one of them.

I used to work at a car dealership, so I would occasionally get to drive some cool cars.
My boss at the time was a guy in his early 20's and was really cool with me and the other lot guys, so he let me take a 911 from the porsche dealership a couple miles away back to our dealership, and he told me to "make sure it was running at 100% ;) "
That was a pretty fun ride.
