Holy Liberal Batman!!
Have you ever seen Canada's gun control laws? I believe you would not enjoy your stay there if you liked your firearms.

When will the masses understand this? LAWS ONLY AFFECT THE PEOPLE WHO OBEY THEM. How are you going to get firearms out of the hands of drug dealers/gangs and the people that use them for violent crimes? Passing another law to prevent a LAW ABIDING citizen from buying a gun is not getting a firearm out of the hands of a criminal, because criminals do not buy their firearms legally.
Here's a question for you, Conquests. Do you have any idea what the criteria is to purchase a firearm in the state you live in, or just in general? Do you know the difference between single action, double action, semi-automatic, fully automatic, magazine fed, tube fed or anything at ALL about firearms?
The people who want more gun laws are the people who are ignorant about them. Expand your mind.
yes i know all the differences. i know you have to fill out a permit to purchase handguns and you have to fill out a permit to conceal and carry if you want to take your gun to porkys. no, i don't know the specifics. yes, i've shot a 38 special from like 1920 for recreation with a friend. i didn't like it. not that it was scary or anything, but i got no excitment out of it. i don't really see how people get off on that shit. but that's me.
and to clarify, since i always get called names and shit when gun topics come up, i was joking in my first post in this thread. since there seems to be a large percentage of pro-gun people in texas. but i know it's mostly the whole south. ;)
to your last statement. i'm not ig-nant. i just watched ted nugent on donny deutch flap about pro-weapons stuff. I listen to point and counterpoint, i look at both sides of the story and take it all in and guess what? from what i have found is that pro-gun people NEVER look at the other side of the story, they all think they are right by GOD and that "liberals will take my guns away! kill 'em all". and that's why you can't really talk about guns with gun people. see? no matter what i say, you'll skim over it and reply with, "you don't know about guns, you're an idiot".
I'm a democrat, not a liberal. there are alot of things i can find common ground on with repubs. bottom line: i think assault rifles and guns which can easily be converted to full auto should never see the light of a gun store.
i know people who kill others with guns are going to get those things anyway. i just think it shouldn't be possible to buy them.

Ok, let's set this straight.
Before you can purchase a firearm FROM A GUN DEALER, pistol or rifle, you must fill a "yellow sheet" that contains all your information. The dealer will call your information and a mini background check will be performed. If you are a felon, you will be denied. But you wouldn't know because you've never bought one.
You can't just "fill out a permit" to carry a concealed handgun. You must pass a federal background check and also pass a shooting test. There are stipulation after stipulation about where you can carry the gun, which gun to carry, how to conceal it, etc., etc.. It's not just a form you fill out. But you wouldn't know because you haven't tried to get a Concealed Carry Permit.
I don't own firearms to "get off". I own firearms for hunting and personal protection. Are you telling me I can only own a gun that YOU SAY is ok?
I am from the South, and that means Texas born and bred. I grew up huntin' and fishin'. I didn't worry too much about the people in the cities shooting and killing each other. I just mind my own business. I don't believe someone from the city is gonna come into my home and try to take what's mine without me fighting back.
I am not Ted Nugent. Ted Nugent does not represent me. You cannot take what he says and base your opionions on what he says.
The most dangerous thing about this is you're involved in a converstion about something you don't know much about. And on top of that, you want to act as if you do.
"i think assault rifles and guns which can easily be converted to full auto should never see the light of a gun store." You might have read about firearms but you don't understand much, if any of it.
"i just think it shouldn't be possible to buy them." Do you have any idea what it takes to purchase a fully automatic weapon? Do you know how much a registered sear for an M-16 goes for? Do you have ANY clue at all what you are saying? Can you name ONE weapon that can be converted to fully automatic easily? Name one weapon and describe how to convert it. I know you can't do it. But because someone, somewhere talked about it, it has to be possible. Right?
And no, I don't have to call you an idiot. You've already done a good job of that yourself.

So because a semi-auto rifle has a pistol grip it makes it worse than a regular hunting rifle? Also, "assault" rifles are not that easy to convert to full auto. (it is a scare tactic spread by the libs)
The only easy gun to convert to full auto is an openbolt Mac10 and good luck finding one of those.
99.9% of full autos were imported that way and have completely different trigger groups than their semi-auto counterparts.

Damn. It's alot more easy putting down the trolls with other gun guys on the board. Everyone that owns a gun, give yourself a hug.

Good kill gun guys.
i look at both sides of the story and take it all in and guess what? from what i have found is that pro-gun people NEVER look at the other side of the story, they all think they are right by GOD and that "liberals will take my guns away! kill 'em all".
I am always willing to listen to the other side of the story, because I am always wondering what scares anti-gun people so badly. You know what? I have NEVER heard a legitimate, logical argument on their behalf. I have kept my eyes and ears open waiting for someone to bring an argument to the table that makes sense, because then you can have a discussion. I beg you to come up with an educated argument for gun control.
And assault rifles? I own some, and let me tell you that the deadliest things in my gun safe are NOT "assault rifles". Besides that, the cost involved in legally owning a full auto or the parts to make one basically guarentees that anyone commiting a crime with a full auto weapon will have obtained it illegally for 1/10 the cost.
You can own a full auto AK47 in any 3rd world country for $100. To legally obtain one here will cost you $10,000 to $30,000.

Who the hell needs a fully automatic gun for hunting? Or even personal protection? if some one is robbing you, and you shoot back, im sure they arent going to stick around even if you only fire 1 shot. I dont know about you guys, but if some one was in my house, I would rather have them leave then have them die in my house.
BTW in a 3rd world country $100 is a LOT of money, but you wouldnt know that, youve never been to a 3rd world country, you wouldnt understand what people go through in these countries.

And the guy robbing you is only coming in with some single action rifle right? Nope.
This is just a general statement from someone who doesn't own a gun. "If there is a chance someone is coming at me with full-auto, I'd like to have full-auto to defend myself".
