They put a little black rubber cap over it. Did you think they were going to have a valve floating in the breeze so a rock could get stuck in it?

Correct me if I'm wrong JET but aren't there (2) 13mm bolts which hold the valve on? The rubber cap can be popped off my a small screwdriver.

I'll see if I can have my parents take a picture of mine on my Laser. My dad was helping me yesterday when I took mine off and checked it over.

Thanks dude!

That was the 90's, the later ones you just take the rubber cap off, push in the retaining pin and use a 2.5mm allen wrench to unscrew the valve. You need to make sure the tranny is in reverse and the clutch is pushed in. I put a 2x4 between the clutch pedal and the seat to hold the clutch down.

I wish I would have known that yesterday! I took the entire valve assembly off to simply check the valve adjustment.

This is soo interesting, I dont think I had a problem like this on my old gsx...

BTW RK take it somewhere like the Mitsu dealer or LSE and have them look at it because you have no idea what your doing and wont be able to fix much... like you said on the phone when I was talking to you a couple days ago...

If I get a pic and decent instructions I can do it. I was hoping there would be a Vfaq about this, but I found none. I agree with Craig - I better get down to learning this. I'll be swapping a tranny and a ported head later this winter and I better catch on fast, starting now. I hate not knowing stuff which I think I should know.
But its a good suggestion, since all I've done before are belts, brakes and some exhaust. BTW, do I know you? I don't remember talking to you.
