Ok guys just woundering who all got hit whith hail, not just talking cars, but your house's... our company is thinking about opening up an office there this spring. And I would like to see just how bad it was and if any of you guys that got hit would be interested in having your roofs checked out. I'm going to post this on most of the forums that I know, if it's big enough I'll be coming back to work this storm.

All it takes is just 11 hits of hail per shingle and the roof is totaled, So if you think that your roof got hit more then 11 times in 1 foot area please post up.

So far according to some of our preliminary search's there has been 100,000 claims so far.

sorry Enes I didn't read through the thread yet, I'm just on lunch break. Basically get up on your roof, if yoru shingles have dimples in the shingles. just like you see on your car when it gets hit with hail.

Enes in your case with being so close to a tornado, look at your roof, Does it look like any of the shingles are sticking up (ie: edges of shingles will sometimes fold up a little and not lay flat on the roof after the seal has been broke) otherwise get on the roof and see if you can lift any shingles if you can then you have Wind Damage.... normally an Roofs if the Seal is perfect you will not be able to budge the shingles, you will break your nails, or even get blisters by the time your done checking the roof.

I'll have to check more about MN codes but down here if there is more then 25% wind damage to the roof andd the insurance company is required to replace the entire roof. And normally where there's a few wind blown shingles there is going to be more through out the roof.

Sideways I was just looking at your pictures and from what I see based on your roof pictures your roof needs work. Looks like you already have bad seals in this picture:
http://www.sidewaysmotorsports.com/gallery/storm92105/P1010014

Enes this Pictures is a Classic photo of what Wind Damage looks like. Keep clicking on the pictures so that it's really "blown up" so you get a Zoomed in look

See how some of the shingles are not sealed/laying flat at the top. Those are actually at the extreme end of wind damage only thing worste is Totally blown off.

if you look farther down in the roof towards the bottom you'll see some of the edges of the 3-Tab shingles are slightly higher, that's typically what you look for/see, with wind damage.

Well we are for sure serious about opening an office the Boss flew out there today to find warehouse/office locations. And they've already asked me if I'm interested in moving back up there to work the storm. So anyone needing a free estimate fell free to hit me up. If you live in apartment complex's or some place with home owners associations, please let me know or drop my name. If I get leads from you guys I could work out a $50 or $100 referal bonus for each house that we do the roof on, Apartment or town house complex or something and I will definetely work a percentage of my Commission back for the referal. (allan let me know your place needs work) and if the rest of your townhouse's need work.

No Joke our company did Erik D. and Katrina's old Townhouse complex over on McAndrews and County Road 11, my Friend Mike's father got the job and his commission of that 1 complex was $600K figure 10% referal fee to the person who got me in with the home owners association and that would be 60K for the person who helped get me in.

Well the only reason we aren't opening up an office right now is because snow is coming and you can't roof with the weather coming. what they did back in 1998 was take orders before hand and then build once the weather got nice.

Basically we're always right in line with what the market is as far as price. maybe a little bit higher but what the insurance company's found out this storm is sometimes it's better to pay for extra price and not get scammed, we are 1 of 4 roofing company's legally left in the Miami Dade county. All other were kicked out the state including 2 twin City roofing company's. But due to slander laws I don't think I can comment on who they are, But one is named after the Twin Cities, the other is named after a Girl Lynn Titus.

They are actually both the same company but the Girl is the Parent company which happens to be a very large roofing company and the other is a child company that they use to price war with each other to get sales. Kind of like good cop, bad cop.

Anyrate they got busted cheating the system not using the right products, not doing things to code, etc, to save on costs. That turned up the heat on everything as the inspectors down here got a lot of Crap for passing there stuff.

As for the referal bonus we can talk in private, etc. Our company pays $50 referal bonus once the job that was refered is completed and paid in full, via check so that'll be on the books, I also give an extra $50 referal bonus ontop of that which comes out of my own pocket.

And for the larger jobs like apartment complex's.... Not sure how you can move $60K and not pay tax's? But who know's maybe I'll buy a pencil off you for that price or something. But again this is all just hear say, until I actually cap out a big ass job like that. But hell who wouldn't pass up and extra $100 per house? Some of you are probably really good friends with your neighbors, and could probably get several referal bonus's.

Allan if you can find out more, Please do, if need be I would fly up there to talk with them before we move.
