That place was a joke, the track was prepped good, but they didn't give a flying fuck about the street cars. The only way you could get runs in is if you were on slicks. They let the slick lanes got 3 times to 1 over the street car lanes. It was a nice day out though and there were some fast cars there. I had fun watching, if I was racing though it would have been frustrating.

Maybe I should try to test out the slicks on my gst there then if it ever runs.
Overall it was a shitty race day for me.
My car would not make more than 26psi. On every single run I had 38-43 counts of knock (unsure if it was real knock or not) under full boost (on C16). And my car kept falling on its face through half of a gear. For instance, 1st and 2nd would be ok, then into 3rd and the car just wouldnt accelerate. Then maybe 2 seconds later the power comes back. It did this in random gears at random times. Each pass degraded by about 2mph. The first being 117, then 115, then 113 then 112 i think.
Track prep was ok early on. My first 2 runs were both 1.7 sixty foots. The second two were 1.8's with tons of wheelspin.
My best run of the day was the 12.2 @ 115 with a 1.78 60' time.
I feel lucky to have gotten so many runs (4) when some only got 2. It was poorly organized and busy.
My car did break. At the very end of the day as I was leaving my oil filter gasket failed and pretty much evacuated most of the oil pan. Luckily I cought it before it could cause any damage and luckier still, Reid and his dad stopped to help out. It took an hour and a half to diagnose and fix. Fortunately we found an Advanced Auto Parts about 15 miles away that was open until 10pm.
After that the car did make it home finally. By about 2am. It will probably never move under its own power again as it is being parted out and the shell junked.
In all, the time, effort, and money to get down there this weekend probably wouldnt have been worth it even if things had gone well. I should have cut my losses and parted the car weeks ago. I'm lucky the car made it home under its own power.

I pulled a 1.73 60' early on at the rock, and I got 14 runs in, hehe. My cars pretty light though, and later i couldnt get more than a 1.83 with the tires spinnin like crazy, but over all it went really well... I actually saw them spraying some sort of tire compound down, I was impressed....

Yep, Iowa sucked. I got in four runs, all low 12's. I missed second and third gear on every run, big delay, but still never went slower than 119.8 mph. The car felt good in third and fourth, but I forgot my laptop power cable, so I couldn't log anything and had to make fuel adjustments with Jet's laptop(thanks Jet) by reading the plugs. I did pull a 1.63 sixty foot though. Track prep was awesome.

Just out of curiosity, how come no one ever goes to Tri-State anymore? It's not that much further than Cedar Falls and is where AJ pulled his T25 times so there must be something good there. ;)

Well Iowa pretty much sucked for me. Not worth the drive this weekend. Track was good, and I know it's not normally this packed, but there were way too many cars yesturday. At a track where most people have unlimited runs, I only got 2. The first run was my first time launching in a year, and with a lot of power. It was a 11.4@131, with a 1.74 60 ft. Second run, the dipstick popped out, and there were at least a couple of boost leaks(logs showed we were down 7lbs on the run). After the launch the car fealt slow as hell. And what a waste of a good 60 ft, 1.64. That run was a 11.6@122. And that was it, no more runs, no time to get used to the car.
Oct 2nd at Tri State is the import showdown. I know it's scheduled, and he was keeping me updated on plans for the weekend... but he stopped even asking so I wonder how big the event will be. If you guys hwere heading to IA again this year that is where i'd suggest going.
