LOL

I did a leakdown test last night and gave up.

Put #1 to TDC , hook up air/gauges, 100psi drops down to 12psi . i listen to air, its coming out of spark plug hole on cyl#2 WTF

i put it on #4 hook up leakdown tester, shows 89 on this one.

move #2 to TDC, hear air coming throu #1 shows 12psi on the gauge
check on #3, air coming out of #1 shows 12psi on gauge..

how are #1 and 2and 3 tied together? any possible way?

It's all in your head. ;)

Honestly, the only thing seperating the cylinders are the pistons and the head gasket.

You mean block and headgasket?

When you are doing a 'leak' test enes, pop off the radiator cap and listen for boiling. If you hear bubbling, you have a blown headgasket. They really shouldn't be pressurizing each other, unless you are pushing it past the rings into the crank case...

Yeah i had the oil cap off, and i had the radiator cap off as well. no bubles there but that s probably because it can't build enough preassure in the cyl to get there. Since its all escaping into the cyl next to it.

If taking engine out didn't involve doing trany as well i'd so be taking the engine out of the bish right now. Or i should ask how hard is it to take engine out while keeping trany in there and then connecting it back together?

If you're pulling the motor, pull it w/ the tranny attatched. It'll save you some headaches.

yeah i supose its easier, but is it worth it to take whole engine out to do headgasket?

No.

Just pull the head off. You should be able to have it off in a few hours, then you can see what the problem is.

Enes- weren't you have troubles before with bad overheating? Head could be warped. Or am i thinking of someone else? I know you had some smoke troubles or something but i can't remember what the details were.

it overheated a bit due to me leting it idle on turbo timer (no fans) without supervision.

i do have to mention the testing i did was on cold engine. will do it again tonight after i let it warm up
