Good god, every single damn thread on this site turns into a debate or argument in one form or another. Whether you agree with his political stance or not, he was one of the greatest anchors of all time. His voice, personality, etc. could have been no better. The man is dead and did more in his lifetime than you ever will, you have to repsect that.
There is no doubt he infulenced many more than I will ever be able to!
"Did more" for good or evil is the real question here.......
People need to peal away the onion, and look a little deeper here?

Holy crap we need a new rule on this board to keep the negativity out. I wasnt praising or degrading his job or what he did in life. I found it shocking he passed away so quickly.
If you dont think it was a big deal then STFU and keep your rude comments to yourself, its embarrasing to hear what you say for people that have done so much in their lives.
I dont agree with alot of his political views either but I still think he was a good anchor and did a great job everyday.
I respect those who deserve respect, not those undermining our time honored and blood bought American Values!
Or I bet would you have shed a tear when Hitler died as well?
That's how some of the right view the ABC propaganda machine, get it?
Who's to say for sure they arn't right, we'll just find out in the long run.
So you can Kiss my ASS MatchBX, I'm alowed to have my own opinion, sorry it doesn't agree with yours.
You are on a one day ban, and if you keep it up, you will be banned for good. I don't really care if you liked the guy or not, you were an asshole and I will not tolerate it.
Changed to a 7 day ban. This is flat out disrespectfull and should have been left off the site.
He lead a life that should be admired, he stayed a Canadian up until 2002 (or 2003) and many think it's why he was never put in the pressence of death as a reporter as some Americans where during his time in the field. But after Sept 11th he knew where his heart was and became an American Citizen.
He made the news watchable for me. May he rest in peace.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that took offense to his comments.
I can't believe Darwin hasn't caught up with him yet.
