Some lady in a Jeep thought it would be a good idea to drive up onto my car!
I tried to avoid the accident but by the time I noticed she was basically on my hood! :(
this sucks! I need to go search for a car now.
I just spent all this money, and Mike spent tons of time getting this car to run nice, just so a lady could drive onto my car and total it!! Sorry I dont have pics for ya. Good thing is my Dad is going to Nicaragua for 2 months so I can drive his car until I find another one for me. ;)
Anyway, Im interested in buying it back from the insurance company, when its time for that, Does any one now about how much I should expect to pay?

It will probably be like 10-15% of the estimated value. When mine was totalled, they valued it at $5800 and it cost me $650 to buy it back. If you buy it back from the insurance company and not the repair shop, your title probably won't be nicked with a salvage title. Mine is still clear and clean. As long as the title never changes hands, it shouldn't be considered salvage. The only way to get full coverage back on it if the insurance company pays you for the damages is to have it fixed and then show it to them. In other words, they won't pay for the same repairs twice.
Did you have full coverage on it? Who do you have your insurance thru?
As long as everyone made it out of the accident ok, it wasn't all that bad. The main thing is your still ok.

Yeah, Im definetly glad no one was hurt. The laser seems to be the only victim.
No I didnt have full coverage on it, and I go thru Statefarm.
KBB's retail value of the car was $3500, so I should expect to pay about $300-$400?
thats not too bad, I can easily get that back if I part it out.

What do you mean buy it back, if you didn’t have full coverage? If the accident wasn’t your fault than her insurance would pay you.

When my old cavalier died, (hit by a drunk driver) i had bought it for $1500 i told them i bought it for $5000, they ended up giving me $2200 and letting me keep the car for free. so basically i took the 3 remaining rims off of it, took the stereo and a junk yard gave me $125 for it. LOL.

Glad you are not hurt. That was one of my worst nightmare. After all the hard work and someone just ends up destroying it. Was the lady drunk?

If the car is totaled dont they give you the $$$ they think it was worth, and then sell it to a junkyard?
