Pardon?

Ethanol is inefficient and has no place at the gas pump. It gets worse mileage, burns hotter, and contains less energy than gasoline per gallon.

Yeah my 50trim'd 99GSX actually gets better mileage than my daily which is a Grand AM. Of course if i'm not hot rodding at all in the Eclipse.

Truthfully, i should bitch about everyone but i look at the long haul, not just gas i consume, price of goods, food, heating in the winter, economy in general. One business hurting can affect many businesses.

...and it's really hard to compare us to other countries by saying that we could be paying $5 a gallon like they are. They might be paying way cheaper on something else. Take MN and WI for example. You have no tax on clothing, gas tax is about 17 cents cheaper. However, our cost of living is by far cheaper. My $475/mo. rent payment is better than the $890/mo apartment when i lived there. A 100k gets you a dam nice house here whearas it don't go far over there. It sucks because i want to buy a house next spring and the fed keeps raising interest rates because of all this.

when I left Japan, the Japanese gas stations were around $2 per liter. So I'm not complaining about $2 per gallon. I tend to just adjust and get used to it, rather then bitch about it.

Ethanol should be banned. Cloggs fuel injectors. My dads old bravada was a 2001 with 140,xxx miles on it. Ran unleaded or super unleaded its entire life except for 1 week he tried ehanol. Threw a cel, caused major sluggishness and ended up ruining his fp. Blames it all on Ethanol :D

'Vettes and F-Bodies can get over 30 mpg on the highway with their double OD 6-speed MT trannies.

The new 400 hp LS2 6.0l gets 18 city 28 highway (per GM web site). That new Corvette kicks ass but I’m talking other V8s that we could afford as a straight trade in cost +/- a few grand.

Low sulfur fuels clog fuel injectors such as Holiday Blue Planet. What do you mean your dad tried ethanol for 1 week? All gasoline we purchase in MN contains 10% (except certain kinds specified for boats, classics, etc.), the highest concentration you can buy is 85% in E85, but that is only for certain FFV vehicles.

do you guys understand that rising oil prices stabilize the american dollar? that higher barrel costs are essentially a world tax that floats our war effort? the key thing to keep in mind is that all oil is traded/purchased in US bonds. there is not a soul in the UAE or other oil markets that wants to see the strength of the dollar diminish by any margin, or their bonds/wealth drops with it.

supply and demand. you want a high HP car? get ready to spend more money on gas, cause your buying premium and burning more of it. but the worlds supply will not last forever. the US pays some of the lowest prices for gas in the world.

actually, the scientific world is beginning to disagree with you there, as it is the growing belief that our "fossil fuel" is not only born of fossils, but an inner mechanism of the earth that produces crude oil without the need for a bunch of dead dinosaurs.

Another record today. $60.95/barrel. Just read this off of cnn.com. I watched a 6 minute video too. Basically expect gas to rise until consumers start to change their daily habits and usages. 3 dollars is coming real soon, $5/ gallon isn't far fetched according to the big BP person on the video.

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Gasoline prices, reversing a two-month slide, are again approaching records and at least one expert thinks they could hit $3 a gallon soon in the United States.

"We'll see it within a year," T. Boone Pickens, head of the billion-dollar hedge fund BP Capital Management, said on CNN's "In The Money" over the weekend.

Pickens noted the discrepancy between $2 a gallon gas in the US and $5 a gallon gas in Europe. "The energy situation is global," he said. "I know there are taxes involved in the pricing...but eventually it's going to have to move up."

I dont know about you guys but my DSM gets 26 MPG city and about 28-30 highway... Thats way better than my winter beater and I only put 89 octane in the audi which gets about 20-22mpg.

I was in canada last week and gas up there was $1 per liter, thats over 3 dollars per gallon.

Stop bitching and take it. A bottle of water is still more than a GALLON of gas, think about it.
