Damn dude, sorry for being interested in getting a car painted. I was serious but not anymore, forget it.

Dude, don't be a dick.

You really can't lay down a flat price for a paint job.

Want rust removed, more $$$, want doorjambs and engine bay done, more $$$, want a color change, or just a respray, all of this effects the price.

If you want, I am sure he could say $1000 for a paint job, but then you don't know what $1000 gets, because he doesnt know what you want.

Doing a paint job estimate itsn't as easy as saying, "i'll do it for you for, umm, 1200$!" Every car is different which means one might need more or less work than the oppsing. Like on 240's. The under carrige tends to rust out. If the car is from a more southern state it might not be in very bad shape at all.

Color changes will differ in price, the kind of paint, how much time it takes to do it, if it's a hobby or full time job. So obviously you cannot just expect someone to give you a price and expect it to be accuarte.

In this case it is a hobby, and to give a more accuarte est. than contact him and setup a date for one...
