Most of the songs on that list suck. Creed, Limp Bizkit and Insane Clown Posse suck harder than even most of those 80's hair bands. I am embarrassed to admit that I own a Limp Bizkit CDs. I hated Slaughter, Warrent, Whitesnake, Winger and bands like that in the 80s. It was just as fake pussy metal back then as it is now. They were the crappy corporate rock back then that has been replaced by the Limp Bizkits, Creeds, and Nicklebacks of today.

Vicious was right on in his last comment. The age thing really does have a lot to do with it, image and what the media has been putting in front of kids for the last 10+ years is sad at best. They manipulate as many as they can and somehow have them believing that their thoughts are their own. Don't get me wrong, they have been doing it forever, it has just increased 100 times over in the last decade. In the big picture, look at the bands that have been successful without all the media attention years ago, the really good ones never went away, they are even bigger now. Aerosmith, Metallica, and yes AC/DC etc are all good examples. Take all the shit away and whats left is good music. Not all of it, but definately most of it.

Most of the best tunes from any of those bands weren't the ones on MTV. I still pop in my Slaughter, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Whitesnake and a few other old CD's quite a bit. Sure beats the screaming non-sensical crap they play on 93X these days. 104.1 plays a few goodies once in a while.

And I always like Creed, just not their ballads.
