Man, you need to get that thing down to 3400lbs like mine. At least in a crash versus a 2800lb 1G AWD we might win. Now you 1G guys know why all us 2Gs are so damn slow. We don't even have heavy electric seatbelts or heavy metal bumpers to remove to get the weight down easy.I agree, but it's the "where to start" issue. I don't want to cut it up or take away from how nice the car is. My goal is to have the nicest and fastest 2g GSX I can put together. And still have fun just cruising around in it. And I think I'm doing very well with that goal and heading in the right direction. No gutting and no trailer queen, unless the driving distance makes it impractical.

Don't think it doesn't bother me to know I could have a 10 sec car right now, if I just starting throwing parts that don't make it run out on the ground and got it down under 3000 lbs. :(

For some weight reduction, perhaps starting to replace body pannels with carbon fiber parts would help. I'm not just thinking of the hood but the fenders and maybe the hatch from squid skins. The prices on the site are listed in CDN dollars.

I think a carbon fiber driveshaft is definite necessity. Call up Precision Shaft Technologies and speak to Mark, he'll be able to hook ya up: www.pstds.com
Tell him Jacob Bolson from up at Iowa State sent you, maybe he'll even give ya a discount. :D
