Ok this is a really noob question but has been bothering me and could be solved with a simple yes or no, but could be explained too.
When tuning, if you dont have a Standalone or an safc is it pretty much worthless to dyno tune besides wondering how much HP you are running?
Is there anything else that could be adjusted besides a boost controller?

The answer to your question is pretty much yes... worthless. The only thing you will get is a baseline of your HP/TQ #'s...
But I just remembered your other post... your installing a FMIC? Haven't looked to close to see if you have any other mods... But you will want some sort of fuel control, otherwise it can go kaboom...
Yep, you are to the point where you do need a SAFC. FMIC, T28 and cat-back (right?) could change things enough to cause problems. My next 2 mods would be SAFC then a logger.

You can't "dyno tune" without a way of TUNING, like with DSMlink, SAFC or a standalone. You can dyno till you're blue in the face, but you aren't accomplishing anything without a way of adjusting things.

Tom I think you would find these three articles very educational in terms of tuning, I know I did:

Try tuning a SAFC with a walbro 255, stock fpr without a logger on just a 14b to just get better gas mileage.. Full tank of gas barely gets me 200 miles to a full tank.. Time to get a logger!

I still don't fully understand how it works, I understand the basic idea and have all the tools but it's just not coming together.
