Lutsen was a blast!
Went up Sat night, boarded all day Sun and today. It was my first time up there, and they have over 1000 ft of verticle, and something like 87 runs.
Some of the lifts your on for what seems like 15 mins. I think the top speed we had on the GPS was 40mph on our freestyle boards, although one of the guys I went with has reached 69.x on his race board elsewhere.
My day ended early with a pulled back (bad, goin to the doctor tomorrow) and one of the other guys wiped out and hit a sign yesterday, cracked his race boot, and released from his carving board and sprained his ankle.
If you have never been there, do what you can to go up there, its only 4 hrs away, less then an hr from Canada, right on Superior and on the lifts and at the top of the mountains (their are 3) you can see over the trees and a beautiful Lake Superior! What a view! $130 got 2 nights lodging, and 2 days on the slopes (as long as your not hurt).
Note though, if you want food, get it before 8pm.. after 9 at the latest, you will be eating gas station food!
2 beers will get you pretty fucked up if all you ate all day was a Blueberry Danish... LOL
