Lutsen was a blast!
Went up Sat night, boarded all day Sun and today. It was my first time up there, and they have over 1000 ft of verticle, and something like 87 runs.
Some of the lifts your on for what seems like 15 mins. I think the top speed we had on the GPS was 40mph on our freestyle boards, although one of the guys I went with has reached 69.x on his race board elsewhere.
My day ended early with a pulled back (bad, goin to the doctor tomorrow) and one of the other guys wiped out and hit a sign yesterday, cracked his race boot, and released from his carving board and sprained his ankle.

If you have never been there, do what you can to go up there, its only 4 hrs away, less then an hr from Canada, right on Superior and on the lifts and at the top of the mountains (their are 3) you can see over the trees and a beautiful Lake Superior! What a view! $130 got 2 nights lodging, and 2 days on the slopes (as long as your not hurt).
Note though, if you want food, get it before 8pm.. after 9 at the latest, you will be eating gas station food!
2 beers will get you pretty fucked up if all you ate all day was a Blueberry Danish... LOL

Do I dare ruin this thread with my adventures last week in South Lake Tahoe? ;)

I haven't been to Lutsen yet, but Tahoe has ruined me and I will never enjoy midwest ski areas again...

Haha!
Our plan was to go to Brekinridge, but time off work and $$$ wise this worked out better.

Some day.

I have been to Lutsen tons of times skiing. When I used to live in Duluth we would go up there all the time. Its a really nice place and for the money you can't beat it. I also have been mountain biking there in the summer there a bunch of times which is pretty fun as well.

I'm going to Buck Hill tonight. Yeah, that's right, Buck Hill suckas!! Ok, so it's not the best, but it's March Madness, so it's only $10. That, plus I've only been snow boarding like 4 times ever, and only once in the past 2-3 years. I've been skiing in Lutsen a long time ago, I'd like to go boarding there sometime when I get better.

Actually I plan on going a few times in the next couple weeks, as long as they stay open. I'll let you know the next time I plan on going.

Ya Lutsen is the shit for Biking. I haven't been in there in a couplle years so I plan on going there this summer and hitting the dirt for a while. Well, I don't necessarily want to "hit" the dirt....damn, one weekend I was there for races we were on the trails that saturday checkin' out the course and coming down Moose Mtn. Well, needless to say, I slid for what seemed like a mile off my bike after I was ejected heheheh. So I had a couple scrapes but it was hella fun.

....shit I remember I was ridin' rigid that day today. No suspension besides my ass. :D
