Can't say I've ever been there in the winter, but my buddies and I make an annual trip there every fall for some biking. One of the best places in the area.

I have trashed a few of there bikes when I have went there in the past. One year I was going over a bridge going about 30mph and the tire went into a grove and bent the hell out of it. Another year I hit a huge jump and broke the shock on the Rock Hopper I was riding. Didn't get charged since it wasn't really my fault, they are suppose to take that. But yeah biking up there is awesome. So is that slide they have there, can't remember the name. But you get on the sled with wheels and rip down these concrete runners. Its super fun, anyone else tried them?
We should get some people together and go up biking this summer.

I'd love to go offroad mountain biking. I haven't done any such thing in 5 years since I moved to the Cities.
Ditto, I used to love tit, but it's been 7 years. Jana and I had talked about getting more into biking anyway. There are lots of places out here that appear to be some good places to ride as well.

I had actually thought about buying a nice Trek or something this summer... *sigh*
I'd love to have a Prophet 600, but I will probably end up with a huffy or some shit. lol

I haven't been up there for a couple of years but the four of us that went up there had a blast. We got a similar deal our lodge was right on one of the runs and the indoor/outdoor pool was the shit.

Do I dare ruin this thread with my adventures last week in South Lake Tahoe? ;)
I haven't been to Lutsen yet, but Tahoe has ruined me and I will never enjoy midwest ski areas again...
I learned to snowboard in Norway so I know exactly how youo feel. Everything here in MN (even Lutsen) is a molehill compared to where I came from.
Post up when you'll be going again, Mark, and I'll join you.

I was thinking maybe this Thursday depending on how I feel tomorrow :o , or if not then for sure this weekend.
As far as mountain bikes go, I would skip the full suspension bikes unless you're going to use them as intended going downhill. I used to have a Specialized FSR, and it was cool and all, but the thing was a tank, plus you lose some pedaling effeciency when you ride, because it compresses the rear suspension a little each time you pedal. I sold that, and now I have a Specialized Rock Hopper. It's not as cool, but it's fairly lightweight, and I think it's just as comfortable. I've had it for maybe 3 years, and I think I've ridden it about a dozen times.
