How can I find out about a rebuild, on a motor to put out about 500 horsepower, and the cost to send it out and have it done?

I would say somewheres around $7,000-$9,000 for everything thats at the minimum.

First if your not going to rebuild the motor yourself, I would find a reputable mechanic and a good machine shop.

Why do you want to rebuild the motor? Nash put down 531 whp on a stock bottom end!

It also shouldn't be anywhere near $7k. All you need is a rebuild, Wiseco's and Eagle rods. You should be able to get that done for ~$3k. You are looking at another $1k if you get a stage 2 head done, but it isn't necessary for that power level, but it will gain you a little power.

I think getting a 2.4 strocker or something would be nice for 5 g's or so.. you'd push well over 600 hp if you get a huge turbo w/ supporting mods.

What year is your car? Do you want 500hp at the flywheel or at the wheels? The stock 6-bolt motors will handle 500hp at the wheels.

Mike's car is a 1GA Auto GSX from what I recall. He is swapping in a manual transmission from a '93 Laser.

Average cost to have a shortblock built with Eagles and Wiseco, balanced and all machine work done with a torque plate has been around 3K Figure another 1K for a decent porting job and assembling the long block, another 700 for cams and springs and about 230 for timing belt components. I just shipped a 2.3 to Tennesee and it ran $97 and took 2 Days. Those are the average costs for pretty much the minimum I will work with. There are a lot of options that can effect the price pretty drastically depending on how far you want to go, longer rods, knife edged crank, crower instead of eagle etc. Hope that helps.

Jacek is helping me out alot, but i want to gain 500 horsepower and I want to get this car on the road again and have the power I want. I have a 92' Eclipse GSX automatic swapping to a 5 speed. Thank you guys for all your help and if you can tell me more about getting the horsepower without sending the motor out that would be great. Thank you. I want wheel horsepower.

Just bolt on the right turbo, intake/exhaust combo, plus some fuel upgrades and you'll be there without taking out the engine. I wouldn't redo your motor unless you don't want to mess with it again or you're starting with compression that's out of spec.
