So what can I all get done for a thousand dollars?

Mikey you're in about the same boat I have been in for sometime. However, I am only looking to attain a wheel horsepower level of 350-400 hp. Check out this thread for some more discussion about what I've like to eventually be running for a powertrain and drivetrain configuration: http://www.dsmstyle.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5655&page=1&pp=30

Hopefully by reading through that thread some of your questions will be answered although you will probably come up with some more questions, but that's all good! :)

It's was just answered above, but there a alot of differant things to consider. Do you want to pay top dollar for parts (will chop the budget up quick) or try for some "cheaper" options. Alot of the choices you are going to have to make.

But I would do:
Intake, Exhaust, Better clutch to put the power down, MBC, gauges, AFC. And right there in most cases goes 1K out the wallet.

Wolhfman's project is a very long term project and wants to be able to drive the car every day. The car won't be on the road for a while. His engine is leaky and is possible that it has worn valve guides. So I suggested for him to rebuild the engine and start out with that. He his target goal right now is to be 450-500 and with a strong longbock if later down the road he wants more power as a goal, that step would be out of the way once he is use to the power and learns a lot more.
