Yes I agree. That is why I say it needs to be totally overhauled or atleast find out where to oil went first.

The oil problem needs to be addressed first. Then you have to figure out what the oil problem caused (seised up, only had enough resistance to stop the belt smaching the valves, etc) Then you have to decide weather it needs a "total overhaul" (whatever you mean by that). Most likely, Mike or Steve will get the car and get it running again.

If I didn't have so many cars, didn't have a fucked up back, and didn't have school (if summertime) I would be interested in looking it over and possibly buying it back (obviously not the same amount). I bought 2 cars last summer not running and got them running.

The engine needs to be pulled anyway you look at it.

Yeah, at least get the head pulled on the engine so you can see what happened. If the engine seized there should be at least some damage on the cylinder walls, not always, but usually. That will also let you know the condition of the valves.

Sorry you got stuck with a hacked up car, that is too bad. When something is cheap, always check the car out really good. If you see some things ghetto rigged, more than likely there are other things. Hopefully it is just some bent valves, but it probably is more serious than that. Good luck!

Since the timing belt is no good, just cut it instead of trying to pull the lower covers off. That will make pulling the head much easier.

Well, none of this matters anymore. I am acquiring the car this weekend. I will figure out what is wrong with it and let everyone know. so as far as I am concerned, there is no reason for this thread to continue on as is. No need for pointing fingers or bashing each others mechanical abilities. So play nice and I will keep you posted.

Ok heres the deal; I don't want another post in this thread until someone actually looks at the car and finds out something that applies to this thread. I edited out all of the off topic posts at Alans request and then put it back into tech. I created a nice thread that people can whore up all they want. People arguing wasn't helping this kid get his car fixed.

Mike if you are the one looking at this car then you can take control of this thread from here. Anyone else is just speculating.
