im gonna go at it sometime tonight. Since i couldnt find the proper lube ill just play with the slave cylinder and bleeder valve and see where to go after that. anyother ideas would be appreciated.

You can get a funnel and connect it to a long clear tube and fill the tranny that way too.

Update, i went to move the car into the garage to work on it. It would shift into every gear before i turned it on, then when i turned it on.. it went into gear but had to jam it. Before when it was dying.. there was no way i could get it into a gear. weird eh

this couldnt be a temp thing could it? I think hydraulic lines are pressurized when the car is not but not when its off right?

Sounds lke a clutch disengagment problem, like the master or the slave or the line between them.Did you find what and where you were leaking?

there is moisture ALL OVER where the bleeder screw is and basically the hole underside of the tranny.. thats all i know so far. I had a fucking trany bolt loose as hell.. could that have done ne thing? Um this sounds stupid as shit but i forgot which hydraulic res is for clutch and which is for brakes.. i think the big one is brakes right? Well at ne rate, the big one is a bit low and is brown as fuck. The little one is still good clear and full....

im letting it warm up before i go out test driving.. but OMG IT SLIDES IN AND OUT LIKE NEW!!! That stupid tranny screw must have not allowed it to keep pressure or something.. which means i should probably still bleed it. I cant work in freezing wheather so i wanna make it home before i do all that unless it is needed badly.

Is the fluid on the bottom of the tranny brake fluid or tranny fliud? That would be the eas way to tell what kind of leak it is. One loose tranny bolt with the rest torqued down properly will not give you much of any problem. That would not cause the tranny to leak fluid. My bet is on the tranny not havig any/enough fluid in it. My friends 96 gst had the same problem. Trans started to shift shitty, progressed to not wanting to go into gears, and not wanting to drive. He never told me about it and ended up without anymore tranny fluid in it. His tranny was unrebuildable. Needed to buy another. I would seriously check the fluid before making any substansial trip.

I use the Hughes method also to fill tranny fluid. Takes forever. I should try the pump method. It takes a long time for the fluid to drain out of the hose. Maybe it is just the cold weather...

Pumps are like 5 dollars at checker... Thats the way I only do it. Takes a bit of pumping but is easier than funneling it.

I would seriously check your fluid level.
