I noticed that my gears were a lil sticky last night.. and then today.. on my way to WI, i noticed it was getting very hard to get the car into and out of a gear ( any gear). Byt the time i reached the end of my journey to rice lake, I pretty much couldnt get it into gear with out smashing it in. I pulled into the drive way, took it out of gear and before i let the clutch out it died. I couldnt get it into ANY gear no matter what i did. Also, it would start for a good 15 seconds and die again... that might not be transmission related. I have noticed something leaking a little from the passenger side somewhere. I cant figure out exactly what it is.. thought it was oil but it wasnt. Thought it was power steering fluid.. nope.. i duno, I need help. I cant get home until i figure this out. Thanks.

Maybe it was tranny fluid leaking...that could deffinately explain the "sticky" shifting. I'd try draining any remaining fluid and refilling it with new GL-4 for now, and then putting some good stuff in once you are back home. I believe a gallon of generic GL-4 is about $5 at Checker.

Or your mastercylinder is shot. I know it wouldbn't be leaking from the passenger side but that could be something else.

Where is it leaking exactly Josh. Take a flash light and look under tranny if you can. You can drain the tranny fluid and inspect. Then make sure correct amount when adding new tranny fluid. Use large wrench for leverage. Hope for the best. Hey is the car running well besides the tranny. Jason.

i cant really tell where the leak is coming when its outside on a shit load of snow and its cold and dark. Ive tried looking before and i just cant pin point it.. ive been meaning to get it on the lift so i can find it better. Walmart didnt have ne thing but GL5 or whatever. So i didnt get that. I just bought some dot 3 so i can bleed the clutch cuz i was told that could be a possability. However, im staying for the night and i will get some gear lube 4 in the morning. I was told you need to pump the lube in? What is that all about and how can i drain / fill it?

Maybe the clutch release (slave) cylinder is loose or the line is loose. The connection of clutch tube. High pressure hydrolic line. Needs to be tourqued 12 ft ibs. Hydraulics failing. If the release cylinder push rod does'nt work the release fork wont. I think it is 12 or 14mm to tighten the clutch tube connected to slave cylinder. Do this and just add as much fluid as you can until it over flows. The system hydraulic probably needs to be bleeded again. I dont know I could be wrong. Hope not. If you have chiltons it is under 7-18, figure #43. Good picture of tube connected to slave cylinder.

you think id leave home without chiltons and some basic dsm tools? HAHA!! lol, im gonna push it into the garage in a couple hours and have at it. I wish i was at home so you could help me. To answer your question.. occassionally i have crazy idle issues, but other than that.. its been running like a top.. the more miles i drive, the better the mileage is.. its cleaning itself up slowly. Im getting a stock DP ( ordered already) monday so i no longer have that massive crack in my exhaust. I found out today that a bolt holding my o2 housing to my turbo wasnt even CLOSE to tightened, its like a half inch out lol. Could that be a reason for the massive exhaust after reving or something? I should check that out eh?

Drain plug is on bottom of tranny. I think it is 17 mm size. Drain the fluid, go to napa to get gl-4 tranny fluid, screw in drain plug, then filler plug is higher, hence why you need a pump to pump the fluid back in tranny. Filler plug I think is 17mm too. Undo, add fluid until over flows, page 1-65 chiltons book fig #198. Put filler bolt back on. I think the tube connection to slave cylinder needs to be tightened. Hydraulics failing.
