I know this has probably been covered before, but I need some more opinions. I was under the impression that I was able to get insured under my parents... but they later discovered today that the insurance company will only cover my under my own "high risk" plan at $260/mo for Liability only. (This is for State Farm)

Wondering if anyone else with a bad record has any suggestions as to where to get a quote. I really need to be insured as of Monday so I can get to my new job in Bloomington.

Progressive is the best with high risk people. Well I shouldn't say the best, but the cheapest.

If anyone else has any other suggestions, let me know. Thanks.

You could check out ProKop insurance, I hear them on the radio all the time and they specialize in high risk drivers.

I used prokop for like 6-7 years, they deal with like 10 different companies, and will find the best rate out of them all.The guy who owns it is a cool guy, and always did what he could to help me find the best rates.

Progessive is cheap, but if you make a claim, they will take their damn time paying out.I don't know if it just me, but they seem to investigate the shit out of everything.I've made 2 comp claims to progressive, after fuckheads have broken into my car, first time took 1 1/2 months to cut me a check. The second time, it was like 3 months.I had to go through 3 interrogations, one of them felt like I just murdered someone and was talking to the police. They even took a ton of pics of me(hanging out on my balcony and walking around my complex) and my apartment building from every angle possible, and I didn't even know it.Anyway I finally had to get a lawyer to get on their ass and they finally paid.I'm assuming they're cheap because the investigate everything and have probably eliminated alot of fraud cases.

They also have a thing called Tripsense now.If you have a 96+ OBDII vehicle, the send you a logger that plugs into the OBD port, and you upload them the info every 6 months. As long as you don't speed or drive a shitload of miles, it will lower their rates by 25%.

This is the only time i'll ever agree. I'm a very high risk person and i've had great luck with them.

Well turns out that Progressive is actually more expensive than State Farm. My mom may have had the #s a little off for SF, but Progressive quoted me $285/mo. Either way I'm screwed, but thanks for the help.

I'm gonna try out ProKop too... I remember always wanting to call them after I heard their commercials on the radio. I'll give an update on what I find out, so others can use the information for their own situations.
