I have 2g mas with 2 out 4 honeycomb sections removed. I know the gm mas flows better. Will the 2g mas be fine up to 500whp. I was under the impression it will not work and need gm mas. I use dsmlink too. I am trying to make my decision based on the best set up and easier to tune with? Any response is appreciated.

I like the GM maf idea.

I like mine, it is a much more free flowing MAS. Plus the ability to put it in blow through config is good for over flow and reduces turbulence before the turbo, also as every ricer can appreciate you can vent your BOV with no ill effect.

Yea and if you blow an intercooler pipe you dont have to worry about your car stalling and dying and then not having steering haha. (happened to me)
I made 426 with a 2G MAS with my old 20G.

With some modifications you can probably make 500whp or more with the 2G MAS, whether is be more hacking of the unit itself, adding a bypass filter, or ignoring its output past some point. DSMLink has functions built right into it to get around MAF overrun. Blaha ran 10.5 on a 1G MAS, throw one of those on there. :)
I prefer no MAF/MAS at all.

I’m going GM maf because, I need to have more room for IC piping and like the flexibility of the GM maf. and I still like GM.

I have a gm maft in blow through and I love it. The 2g mas is sufficent for alot of power but it is still a restriction and it is very bulky and karmen vortex maf's are a poor design IMO. If you have the money i'd go for a gm maft.

I liked my 3" MAF in blow-through....quick spool and quick throttle response.

Thanks for responses. Looks like I wont be cutting any corners. Gm mas with translator is the way to go. I just cant find ways to cut corners with the bigger turbo. I got to replace tranny/fmic/exhaust manifold/external wastegate/i/c piping/intake manifold/bigger injectors/etc. Oh well.
