^Don't encourage the kid.^ The TC has the fuel to support 270hp and the "Stage 3" package that is coming out for it upgrades the fuel! point is:
it's gonna make at least 220hp at the wheels with the Vortech SC at "Stage 2" and then they'll have a high boost pulley set and more fuel as "Stage 3". Dealer said that the short block is all forged. should handle SRT-4 levels of power.

I was not aware of any of this. But, I could still swear there was going to be a turbo version. Either way, I think I am going to start saving my nickels and dimes.

I guess they are ok, but they aren't in the league of an SRT-4 for performance and modding. It is a heavy 3000lb+ FWD with a Camry motor in it. It has an open-deck aluminum block, to make power with it, it would need to be sleeved and then some aftermarket rods and pistons. It also has a low 6200rpm redline and a head built for economy.

mini cooper S > scion & srt
Those things are pure garbage. Their build quality make DSMs look like Toyotas.

Ummm....anyone working part-time at $6/hr can afford to finance one.

DSM dood dealer guy said stock block should be good for over 300hp. I believe him because it's a nice low number. I'm not saying it's a performance car or can be made into one. It would make a better pot-hole-dodger than a SRT-4 anyday.

Hughes- Not everyone wants to make payments on a brand new car. You would either have to pay more per month and get it over with, or make small payments and in the end pay 30k for that stupid car.
Payments suck, so does financing, so if thats what you like go ahead buy a new car already!

Payments help your credit, credit pretty much makes or breaks you as an adult. I think i shall next spring when the weather gets nice again.
The reason I keep talking about financing is b/c I am tired about people talking about their dream-car, etc. and having it be such an obtainable goal. This summer I worked with a chick who's dream car was a fucking Olds Alero. To top that off, she had just purchased a Cavalier Z24 since she claimed an Alero was too expensive. I pretty much went off on her saying a cheap Alero would be the same price as the Z24, and if she was to get a year-old one, she could get a fully loaded Alero for less than she paid for the Z24. Finally, at the end of the summer she took my advice and got rid of the Z24 for an Alero. Being a lazy American she took a huge loss, she traded the car in for 50% of its private-party value since she claimed she was too busy this summer to try and sell it on her own (keep in mind she worked 20 hr weeks and nothing more). Oh well, end of the story she got the car she always wanted b/c after I threw some numbers at her she realized her dream was obtainable.

But, you have to keep in mind that when you purchase a new car you have to have full insurance on it all the time. So, even if I decided to buy a new car and store it during winters, I have to keep it fully insured. Plus, insurance on a brand new car is often way higher than on say.... a 92 Talon. Its not just always about the price up front, or the monthly payment laid out before you.
