You can borrow a dattalogger or buy one, get a EGT gauge or a wideband, of drop the boost and see if it changes. If you drop the boost and it goes away, it was running lean. You could also check your spark plugs.

I've got a Universal WB Sensor/Datalogging Software to check it out.

Maybe an AFC should be your next mod.

Note: Most 2Gs I've seen without cats smoke(rich/safe) under hard boost.

EGT is worthless. Its a FWD take it do a dyno with a wideband o2, or buy a wideband and put it in your car.
