View Full Version : Where Can I Go To Get A Cheap Paint Job?
If there is a good coat of wax under it, it should have come right off. Did you try rubbing or polishing compound?

don't have a Polishing compound.
But seeing as I haven't waxed the damn thing in like 2 years and it's the front of my hood?....
I was thinking the entire time - that a buffer would probably work but since I don't have one.... I'll just have to see if the "pipes" have the "powa" to handle the job.
hhehe :headache:

A buffer can take out a lot of things that your "pipes" can not. The fast speed of a buffer is what cleans things up with the right compound.

I'll see about picking up a buffer before I go out this weekend that way I don't embarrase any of you guys. (along with myself)
It wouldn't be that bad but when I tried scrubbing it all off yesterday I'd been working on my car for probably 5hrs (had to get new license plates since I couldn't find my front one, and thought I might have left it on my stock bumper that I sold)
Anyrays so I was all dirty and did a great job of rubbing it into the overspray. Yep Yep I know "I RULE".
But hell in the last 4-5 days I've probably gotten oh about 7hrs of sleep total. And yesterday I should have just stopped working and gone to bed. But I had to drive it to work this morning so I had to finish putting on the rear bumper, and really wanted to put on the front plate. Cause I'm tired of getting harrased by the Po PO.

When trying to buff out sandscratches the best thing to use is a big angle grinder with a buffer wheel. The high speed really rubs the rubbing compound in good. You gotta sand it down with like 1500 grit and then buff with rubbing compound. when using a high speed buffer like that you gotta be careful for the edges cuz if you catch that your skrewed. I dont know if that will help you out but best of luck to you.
high speed buffers dont work well simply because they are fast. they work because they are moving so fast they heat and melt the paint, which, if used properly, can get it to fill the fine scratches. you have to be very careful using them because you can seriously damage the paint if you don't know what you're doing

Hey i know this is kinda interrupting, but i need my side skirts and front bumper, maybe even my back bumper too...all need them painted to match the car. Spray paint + me = bad quality.
So i need something cheap too, really cheap...if this gets worked out (or anyone can do it now) please PM me.

I'm in the same boat, I need a fender/mirror/bumper and some toutch up painting but I'm mostly concerned with dropping my car off. I don't wanna hear that your "boi" or your "homez" can do it or "I know someone". If you have personal experience w/a shop good or bad post it up.
