Well heres how far the car has came engine is 99% complete just need engine mounts then i can drop it in the car. Real close to being done

Little update. Planning on having the car uo and running next spring ready for next season. Ill be sending in the shortblock i have now to be sleeved and then back assembled. Didnt feel like pushing what i want to at that blcok as it is now

Havnt updated the thread in awhile so here whats been going on the shortblock i built first got tore apart to send the case halves out to get closed. The new case halves just arrived today stg4 iag closed deck, pinned mains, oringed deck, 14mm headstuds etc.. Also have been gathering some other parts as in all my fuel stuff and some other little goodies. Shortblock is getting assembled next week and then possibly after i get the longblock together itll go in the car possibly. We will see.

Time to get the shortblock assembled. Heres a list of whats in the new shortblock and whats done to it.
- Stg 4 Iag closed deck conversion
- Pinned mains
- O-ringed deck
- Manley turbo tuff i-beam rods with arp 625 rod bolts
- Manley turbo tuff extreme duty 99.75 pistons
- King rod / main bearings
- New oem 08+ Sti crank

Longblock is assembled completely and hopefully going in the car this weekend if not next weekend. Heres a pic of the shortblock assembled and showing the orings.

I don't believe that will work. That's a MLS.

An o-ring needs a maleable surface to press into. Which is a copper gasket.

You may ruin the o-ring if you use an MLS and torque it down onto that o-ring.

You are correct it is a mls gasket yes. It accually does not ruin the o rings itself
Alot of people run mls head gaskets with o rings and is accually recommended by some of the best subaru shops in the US
