The voice commands are kind of weird. It's probably faster and easier to pick up the remote and turn up volume instead of screaming at it and looking awkward. (A friend does this at gatherings).

I can totally see Spaz doing that.

I'm thinking kid-wise here. I'm guessing you use the Kinect for those dance games, but not for arm motions like the Wii.

I own both and prefer the ps4 over my xb1. I use the xb1 more currently just because my friends who play Destiny are on it, but I think the ps4 has the better games (not a halo fan, forza is cool) and I generally buy my games on there if it's multiplatform.
Also, kinect is a waste of money. The visual login is annoying. If I'm sitting next to roommate and he's playing, it will log me in and can cause issues with online multi-player. The hand gesture controls are terrible. Only thing I like is I can say "Xbox record that" and it will record a clip of the last 30 seconds. Half the time it hardly works though and I have to say it 1 or 2 more times.

I recently stopped at Game-stop (havent been there in 7 years) What the guy told me is that currently... game availability is about even between ps4 and xbox. However, play station is working on a backwards compatibility that supposedly will blow xbox out the water...if you like old school games. What they are working on is being able to stream games all the way back to play station the original without physical disk. I think that would be pretty cool. Then again how many want to play old games....i was thinking for a younger audience there were more appropriate games for the age brackets ect who knows if the graphics will be touched up or not though.

I'm just curious why not a gaming computer?
I have 2x xbox360's and a wii, the kids don't even touch them. They just want to play on my 2 gaming computers.

The amount of change that is applied through the volume control is fucking worthless... I won't even deny that. Nobody is impressing anyone by yelling "Xbox, volume up!" 30 times just to barely change the perceived volume.
But being able to say "Watch Discovery Channel" or "Watch BBC America" and not having to go through the guide or remember channel numbers is pretty handy.
But I agree, it's either something you'll use or you won't.
