So my FPRed shelled a blade off of the exhaust wheel and destroyed the turbo. It had around 65Kmiles of 35psi. Nothing is reusable per FP's assessment. I liked the response and power level, I don't think there is a real equivalent with a T3.
T3? is that all we have now? The other bolt on's from FP are a joke...you need a new downpipe, wastegate, etc.... Garbage IMHO. I didn't want a bolt on BB due to the price.
i'm thinking a PTE 5558 with a .63 housing? I want a drivable, all around easy to deal with car.
Fail.

5857 or 5858 it is now, BB or go BW.
My 5857 with kel ford 272s was awesome, sadly I bought a JB version it didn't last 5k miles, they didn't put in a retaining clip for the hotside bearing.

If you have money burning a hole in your pocket, you could look at the EFR 7064 (56lb/min) or 7670 (64lb/min). Both come in T3 or T4 form, internal WG, integrated blow off valve, optional compressor wheel speed sensor (good for your engineering mind!).

Buy my FP Red. It's the old skool so it's got the Evo hotside, plus now getting the new HTZ wheel and new 84mm compressor cover. It's currently at FP getting the work done.

Evo hot side meaning twin scroll exhaust manifold? And old school meaning their first release of the evo fpred? With out the flow advanced cover, ( now it will have)? Did they confirm it was good and provide the quote?

Question to all the pte issues, was it a journal or bb? I've had great luck with my pte turbos over the years, most are bb, for the exception of a 5031 on an old dsm.

Mine was a journal bearing, always an issue with their JB stuff. I've been too poor/cheap to buy their BB stuff.
I've heard their issues with BB stuff is minimal.
**edit** Once PTE rebuilds their JB turbos they seem invincible like BW, holset, Garretts are new. I figure better quality control/build.**
