It's been a while since I've seen this thread. I came across a book about a month ago called The Commanding Heights: The Battle for the World Economy. I looked it up and found the video version and gave it a watch.

Commanding heights is a Marxist-Leninist phrase to describe the major businesses of an economy such as energy(oil, coal), production(steel, etc), banks, communication and others. In a communist/socialist regime, the government nationalizes, or takes over, the commanding heights of the economy. This allows government, not the private sector, to plan how businesses and the economy should function. This would be how a socialist state is created and how Vladimir Lenin did it.

The opening post claimed that a man named Saul Alinsky wrote something called the 8 levels of control which purportedly described the path to a socialist state. It also claimed that the current administration is on the path to fulfilling those goals.

The thing is, nationalizing the commanding heights of an economy is how you create a socialist state. That wasn't even on the list. If Obama decides he's going to nationalize ExxonMobil, then you know there is something to worry about.
