I'm reserving a court at Whirleyball in Maple Grove for Sunday, December 14th. If you don't know what Whirleyball is, check it out here: http://www.whirlyballtwincities.com/ Basically you drive around in these amusement park style bumper cars and try to throw a whiffle ball against a backboard. Its two teams of 4-5 players in a small basketball or racketball style court. You use a scoop to pick up the ball and throw it. Its a lot harder then it looks to hit the backboard square. Its really fun because everyone is on a pretty level playing field and there is a fair amount of strategy and teamwork involved.
I'll be reserving the court for $200 for an hour. If we can get 10 people, then you'd each need to give me $20 that day. If we get more than 10 people, the price will go down accordingly. We can make 9 to 12 minute games and split up the teams and seat time if need be.
We will meet there at 11:30am on December 14th. Our court time is noon. But please be there at 11:30am so we can get things organized. Afterwards, we will have lunch at Whirleyball. They have a full menu. And after that, if there is enough interest, we could even do some laser tag.

Please chime in if you are coming. Don't give me any wishy-washy "maybes". Commit to it so we know how many people we will have. (and so I don't get stuck with the entire $200 bill) :) I'll be opening this event up to other Minnesota Mitsu owners to make sure we get enough people. Lets have some winter fun!!

Looks like we'll probably have around a dozen or so people playing Whirlyball. If you just want to come watch or just eat with us you can do that to.
For those of you playing, please bring some cash. With the number of people playing, it will be somewhere between $15-20 a person and you'll be paying me. I'll bring some small bills, but I need you guys to do the same.
We'll meet there at 11:30am and hopefully get it all figured out and start playing at noon. After 1pm, we'll be eating there and talking about how bad we all were at tossing a wiffle ball at a backboard. LOL.

Big thanks to Deutsch, Scheides, Spaz, Matt D, and Madan for coming to the Whirlyball meet. With only six of us playing, it costed a little more per person, but we had a ton of court time and everyone had a blast!
On another note..... One of the reasons I put on this Whirlyball meet and things like my Open house back in October to hopefully jump start the Mitsu community. It seems like its basically on life support and only getting worse. The All Mitsu Cookout numbers have been pathetic the last two years, and over half of the people that said they were coming to the Whirlyball meet flaked out. :(
You can all say you are just too busy for this or that. I know its a juggling match for your time. But the bottom line is if you are not coming to car events its because it isn't as important to you as other things in life. I've been putting on local Mitsu events since 1998. Long before anyone reading this was a Mitsu enthusiast. And I must say, the local community is in the worst shape that I've ever seen it. :(
This Spring I'm going to make a couple more attempts to jump start things, and hopefully things will change. But if things don't make a turn around, there probably won't be another All Mitsu Cookout and eventually I'll give up trying. And I really don't want to do that. It would be nice to see some more activity from all our local clubs. (EVOMN, Mitsustyle, MN 3/S)

Wow cry me a river. People have other things going on now days. Houses, babys, jobs, ect. There is no one new coming into Mitsus since they don't make any performance cars any more now with the death of the evo coming up. 90% of style has moved on to other cars no days.
We still get a good turn out for the spring and fall cruise every year and you and all the 3s guys are invited to go but don't because you don't put it on,it is over night and we go drinking. You can go on the cruise go home if you don't want to spend the night or just not drink plain and simple. I am not trying to be mean but it goes both ways for events if we do them or you do them.
We still get together 1 time a week it is just a few of us but who the hell cares if it like the old days when it was 20+ people at Apple bees or old chiagao we are no longer in our 20's and stay out all night drinking every week. Every one has some kind of life out side cars now it is just the way it is. Mitsus are not 50-60s hot rods were there are huge car shows and huge clubs.

The biggest thing that should be focused on is keeping this group of guys together regardless of what we're all currently driving. A lot of us met through Mitsus, but are not friends just because of Mitsus. Get what I mean?
